Yeah they were out before 97 but they became part of foot locker in 1997..

My boy kicked straight knowledge. It makes sense how GOAT gets early pairs. Allocate a few for retail and then a few for resell. And with resell, you are not bound by Nikes restrictions. It's all a game!!!

I can recall real early in the beginning of this year buying some Penny's at JD Sports & telling the two cashiers that "y'all murdered Footlocker". They laughed along. NOW, it's a pure given reality. Eventually, we'll all be telling our grandkids about a store called "Footlocker" that used to our #1 to go to back when.

I find it interesting the smaller Footlocker on the other side of the Florida Mall, begins reservation pickup at 5pm vs the House of Hoops and any other Footlocker that starts pickup at opening until 5pm when they let go leftovers. Why is that?

Bro, I won the wet cement Jordan 4 raffle on Saturday. I got an email Sunday morning saying the shoe was out of stock and I would get my money back in 5-7 days... Never buying anything from Foot Locker again. Especially now that you taught me my pair went to GOAT. Finish Line had the shoes in store so I still got them but man I was ready to burn Foot Locker to the ground.

I think so in my experience in Atlanta growing up..footlocker started being a few dollars more than the competition in 90s and 00s....idk y that is because at one point they had decent prices on brands ranging from. 50 and up ! It's sad because footlocker was the go to and hold a lot of nostalgia

You have to understand the business side of why Footlocker doesnt discount sneakers like other retailers. My SVP is a former Nike executive and he explained that the contracts Nike has with retailers like Dicks and Footlocker limits them from discounting certain sneakers. JD sports are in a small markt of regions in the U.S. They account for such small market share that Nike doesnt engage in contractual language with such a small business. Think back to old days of friends and family discounts at Footlocker, Jordans were not included in those deals because of the contract with Nike. Footlocker is limited on pricing power.

@lena_MVA thanks for feedback, I am sure that plays a huge role, but in the climate we’re in customer are not caring about contractual obligations. Footlocker needs to amend some of these antiquated legality measure to serve they customers better ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@Ballinonabudget Doesn't work like that. Nike built DTC model and started freezing out retail stores. This is why Dicks created their own DSG line. Footlocker has no bargaining power to leverage Nike into a better deal. Nike sales went through the roof in the early days of the DTC model and even though sales are down for them, they have no reason to go back to 3rd party resellers. Nike stores and factory stores account for more sales than the stored like footlocker. This is straight from Nike leadership.

Footlocker should have kept Footaction and closed champs but i guess it would have been too much to rebrand all the champs to footaction and WSS basically replaced eastbay.

@@Ballinonabudgetdepends on if they popular im in chicago the cardinal 7’s sat and foot locker discounted them most of the 7’s sit here, lol, them mauve 1’s you picked up them sat and all were on sale at footlocker but the outlet had them cheaper so why pay 20-30 more at FL when you can go to Nike O and get them.
