was waiting for Illusioning illusion. and you executed perfectly. nice set and display

Leggy atomic was really common back in the 90s and early 2000s. Somehow I learned hippy on one side and leggy on the other. Had to correct it later on because I didn’t like the lopsidedess of not being fully bothsided I wouldn’t call it illusioning though, since that’s what you would use to denote mid/downtime illusioning tricks like eggbeater
@38Marvin382 жыл бұрын
I don't see any problem calling it illusioning set. I call it that way myself aswell. As an argument I can choose for example whirling set. Nobody has problem with that name, yet we have whirling as a downtime too. Lets say pdx whirling swirl.
@Hackrifice2 жыл бұрын
@@38Marvin38 Typically we say blazing for whirling set, though I see your point. I still think leggy atomic makes more sense though, and it's how we've always referred to it. If we went with illusioning for leggy atomic, when speaking with a new player, how would you distinguish between eggbeater and leggy atomic far legover? If you just said "illusioning legover", then both tricks have the same technical name. How would we differentiate blazing if one person was doing it, say with the knee way outside of the body as opposed to someone doing it tucked into the body? It would be a similar difference as between hippy and leggy atomic; what would we call that? Something completely different, or a riff on blazing so that it's easier to remember and more people know what you're talking about just from the name?
@38Marvin382 жыл бұрын
@@Hackrifice blazing = whirling continued with pdx. I don't agee about your example of whirling with different position of knee. In my eyes accurate example would be that if you want call illusiong set leggy atomic, it is the same thing as calling whirling set leggy stepping.

@@38Marvin38 Hmm, maybe. Good example. I still think the confusion between downtime and uptime warrants a different name though, whether it's leggy atomic, which it's already called, or something else -- illusioning is already taken

@@Hackrifice New word would be good. But it seems to me wierd to make a new name just now, after so many years.. Upllusioning sounds good to me:D.

Nice work Matt! Not only does it look different than an atomic, I can attest that this feels completely different (and more difficult) when attempting it.

Nice set you chose. Not used much. Reminds me leggy bubba set used by Jorden, that was even more rare.

I'd call it more like reverse quantum than leggy atomic

Thats a weird set 🤣 funny enough thats how i started to learn atomic back in the day. Struggled so much untill i discovered hippy atomics 😎

bro i cant even do illusioning , give me some tips

Do you mean this set, or the downtime trick Illusion?
@zach4thlife2 жыл бұрын
It was really hard for me to learn atomic. But leggy atomic came rather easy. Leggy Atomic Drifter so Grifter I guess. Illusioning set.

I'm learning hacky sack and i've been looking a lot of these tricks. I think the problem about this sport is that people go for these ridiculous tricks but it also LOOKS ridiculous. Not to mention, doing it in short shorts, lol. Way to stop new people coming in. Probably the only person that can make it remotely look good is Taishi Ishida.
@PassBack Жыл бұрын
Honestly I had a pretty similar attitude as you when I first was discovering freestyle. I came from the hacky sack world, and I was really stubborn; I wanted to keep wearing skate shoes and baggy pants, and rejected a lot of the higher level because I thought it just looked like weird dancing. I vaguely wanted to get better, but I wasn't willing to let myself get fully into the sport right away, probably out of fear for how I would look doing it. But the more I played and learned the less I resisted and cared about things like the "ridiculous" look and the "short shorts." I discovered that I just loved how playing and progressing made me feel, and I really didn't care what anyone else thought about it. This sport actually seriously changed how I perceive the world, and I'm a much happier and confident person because of it. I can't say if that will happen for you or not; maybe you'll just stick with hacky sack and dabble in a few tricks, or maybe you'll fall in love with freestyle like I did and find a lifelong passion. I would just suggest to keep going with it as long as you're enjoying yourself and be open to seeing where it takes you.

@@PassBack I understand. I don't think I'll ever get anywhere near this level so it probably doesn't matter 😂😅 I still think the sport needs a style category.
