Lol this berserk state is Rin's true ego, but he had some thoughts that obstructed his true ego. All those thoughts about Sae, Isagi etc. gave him an impure version of his true ego. His true ego is absolute destruction, he'll beat you at your best without hesitation. Where Sae is beautiful destruction that finds the weaknesses and succeeds via the path of the least resistance. Polar opposites between the two brothers. Rin releasing his connections to Sae and Isagi is him finding back his core ego, the ego Sae saw in him as kids, which is why Sae was shocked.

The thing about Rin's irrational playstyle being so unlike what we've seen. When Sae returned, Rin said that he was playing as a replacemnt for Sae. When they were younger, Sae asked Rin what he was thinking ehen scoring, and Rin basically said that it wall intuition, inspiration, no reason So the Rin we have been seeing in season 1 was basically Sae as a striker, and Rin isn't actually playing true to himself for now What will happen to him later? We will have to see
