Later in the show Bobby Moore talked about Tom Finney whom he played withg as a nineteen year old on an FA tour of South America.

The great Bobby Moore looking thin, nobody knew at the time that he would be dead less than 4 months later.

He hid it well....but I'm not sure even he knew by this point he only had a few months to live

@@rampageclover9788 His health began to deteriorate at the start of 1993. He hid the cancer well for the next 20 months after diagnosis. But like as been said I don't think even he'd have known he would have deteriorated that quickly

An absoloute disgrace that this country couldn't have done more for Bobby Moore. If he had recently retired as a modern day professional player, he would have had BBC, ITV, SKY and Setanta biting him off for him to work as a pundit. Where as when he did retire, there were no real offers. The FA could have found him a role, considering he is the only captain to lift the world cup. Obviously should be knighted.

Maurice Richmond he probably didn’t want it
@mohdazmi104 жыл бұрын
Maurice Richmond i agree. Bobby Moore should be given a job in the media as a pundit commentating beside top commentators such as John Motson Barry Davies Brian Moore Hugh Johns etc. few know he was the pundit beside Hugh Johns in the 1970 WC Final.
@SMSJSC3 жыл бұрын
Yes, he wasn't treated anything like he should have been - and neither, for that matter, was Sir Alf Ramsey. Their greatest ever manager and greatest ever captain - almost shunned by the media, Ramsey even shunned by the bloody FA too. Unbelievable.

the reason you probably didn't recognize Bobby Moore is the sad fact that he was battling bowel cancer at the time. he died in '93 hugely unappreciated in my view. Best sitting opposite him was at the height of his alcohol abuse died 13 years later.

As great as Law, Bestie and even Marsh (to some degree) were...I wish they would have shut up and let Bobby get more than just a few words in...it's another example of the pure lack of respect he was shown over the years by not just the generation that came after him but even his own contemporaries

I don't think there's anything wrong with having a mixed panel nowadays, but the way these minorities claim victimhood is pretty pathetic. The worst thing is, the government, media and virtually everyone in authority is buying into it. The world's gone mad.
