He was injured he says this himself and its in KZbin somewhere. He had a deep cut in his heel needing stitches or something similar. Its others since the final that say he was dropped. He had no hard feelings

Jimmy lived down the road from us and our village was carnage after the storm. Maybe because we were the only hill for miles around but it was really bad! We didn't have power for a week and the sound of chainsaws was the sound of my childhood as the clean up went on for month after month

Greavsie's sense of raconteurship and comic timing here is wonderful. He puts many of the so-called 'professional' stand up acts of today from Live At The Apollo (and who only get laughs by talking about sexual matters, or using cuss words) to absolute shame. If he had never made it as a footballer, he would have been a natural comedian. Top man too.

Weather was changing then, maybe. I remember the storm, I delivered newpapers and was on my way home on my bike. Downhill, then just as I started to go uphill I stood to put force on the pedals to keep my speed up and the chain snapped and I went over the handlebars. No helmet, hit my head. Looked up to see a green Volvo bearing down on me. Thankfully it stopped. A guy came to help and I could see his eyes focussing on my head where a big lump had already formed. Nothing to do with Jimmy Greaves. I liked him on Central News sport and Saint and Greavsie. Been watching videos of him on KZbin of late to see his goals.

The problem with weather forecasts is that a lot of the time it's a case of the models predicting there's a 70% chance of a certain type of weather in a region, but people don't want to hear that. They want to be told "it will rain" or "it will be sunny" etc, and the forecasters can only really say what's most likely to happen. I've seen snowfall where in one town football matches have been called off, but just a couple of miles away it's been fine - yet the people without snow were probably saying the forecasters got it wrong.
