I first saw this anime when I was probably ten or twelve; I'm like seventeen now. Oh my god, it still makes me cry. It's so fucking bittersweet, I can't. This is like one of those endings where you wish it would go into another season, but at the same time, you know it should be left be because it was such a good ending and omg. Bawling my eyes out.

Because let's admit it, today's anime industry refuses to make a series with a start and ending, full with conclusion. Today anime is just advertisement side project of multimedia franchises, not its own entertainment, as sad as that is. Exceptions are few and far in between.

Nah she didn't lose, she loved Takuto but always knew it was one sided. Takuto and Mitsuki ended up loving each other and because Meroko loved them both, she wanted them both to be happy and found her inner peace in doing so, which is why she became an angel. Because she put others feelings above her own and found peace in it. ❤

@@candylover1991 Well in the manga, the reason why Takuto never returned Meroko's feelings... is because he knew that Meroko is still in Love with Izumi. I recommend you read the manga... there's a lot of stories that haven't been unfolded in the anime yet.

NEW FUTURE is phenomenal. Like the song gave justice to the ending, a new future ahead for all of them. 💓 I rlly missed this anime. Everytime i want to cry, i always come back here. The ending is a new beginning but for some reasons, it's carrying the "feels". And damn, when you know that the vc of Takuto and Meroko are already dead, it gives you more reasons to cry.

Well, there's a lot of different settings between the manga and the anime. In the manga, the original ending of the story is that Mitsuki still continues her career as a singer. One day Takuto appeared in her concert and yes all of the audience witness there reunion scene, Meroko and Izumi became partners and couple again. The manager and the doctor ended up with each other. There's a lot of things that didn't happen in the anime actually, for example... Takuto did met Mitsuki when she was a child... Izumi's past and how he really loves Meroko... Meroko's past is connected with Mitsuki's grandmother, and the reason why her grandma hates music... Takuto's ex-girlfriend... the Manager's dark past and first love... and Mitsuki already knew Eichi's been dead for a long time... I guess all we didn't see that... considering that the anime finishes first before the manga. Though I hope that this anime would have another re-make like Hunter x Hunter and Fruits Basket.

Thinking back about Mitsuki constantly saying she wants to reunite with Eichii gets a completely different meaning once you discover the manga big reveal... God this is so nostalgic. I'm glad that the anime go its own way from the original manga. The story become more about Mitsuki's ACTUAL life compared to the manga that tried to be complicated by adding the whole Shinigami story-thingy. Manga spoiler: I don't buy the bullshit that is Mitsuki's surgery succeed because she has been the transformed form long enough that the cancer doesn't grow that much. Like..... okay, wtf the anime is so tear-jerking at the last stage part and surgery scene and the ending. It soooo reduced the tear-jerking meter.
