The front 3 lacked intensity, the pivots lacked mobility and the defences lacked aggression in build up. So many problems and one thing of note Ruben tried with the most senior players and they have mostly failed him United were lucky Onana made some incredible saves. I would have played Yoro & De ligt Next to Mazraoui Dalot as right wing back Garnacho as left wing back Amad as a RAM Bruno as LAM there would have been more intensity there and left Rashford on the bench and played Højlund

Sure, I think he chose the older guys for a reason. Evans, Casemiro, Rashford, Dalot. ten Hag only started them all together when there were injuries. Amorim is filtering out the older guys who can't deliver against bottom half teams. We won't see this line up again.

The game evolved quite a lot tactically and nobody's tactical decisions seemed to be erroneous. It was a game played by managers who know what they are doing unlike ten Hag - so he will be better than ten Hag for sure. He is also very confident in his talents and daring; he didn't keep it simple early(so no new manager bounce), instead he's trying to implement his style immediately and made tactical adjustments without delay. I'm optimistic.

I warned this already few years ago that Pep have to buy backup for Rodri which proven that I am right all along. What I would've done at this point which is the ONLY way is abandon possession football and focus on defensively solid since PL teams focus more and more on shut down opponents' midfield and counter hard and fast. 5:22 Tuanzebe got drippled past 0 times and Leif Davied got dribbled last 2 times though. Man United still arent good enough going forward. Rashford, Bruno, Garnacho front 3 didnt work.The 3 arent good enough in possession. Bruno was decent but Rashford and Garnacho were very poor. Might be better to see Amad further forward in the right inside 10 position and Garnacho left wing back. But Garnacho's quality in the final third is very poor.

one thing about amorim, and he always said this, that it is not about structure and more about principle. he adjusted a lot throughout the game and this game is just battle of adjusting between amorim and mckenna. just a shame we started with that line up, cause with better player, we win this game easily.

Rashford won’t survive this manager. He’s never the one to be energetic and run, close his man down or press. In Amorims tactics this is needed and Rash will inevitably be shown the door. Dalot probably too as he provides near to nothing in both ways.

The two wide center backs were not taking any risk into line breaking passing. I think Martinez and yoro or deligt at the wide backs will help in aggressive build up. Dalot and casemiro loss balls too often. Even Erikson was doing blind passes. As long as united did not have players that can hold ball on their feet and make passes without losing then united will not excel. Dalot is going to kill Amorim if he didn’t bench him. Dalot didn’t understand football. NowIn football is brain first and physical second. Pedri and Casado outplayed Madrid physical players because they have the brain .

His obsession with pushing DeLigt into midfield will be his undoing...there's a reason most top in possession managers don't play a rigid double pivot (boxy passing angles often make a pivot easy to mark out of the game), and he'd be better off pushing his WCBs into fullback positions whilst enabling his wingbacks to stay high and wide

It is absolutely impossible for Eriksen to move into the area you referred to. Firstly, this would leave the position with only Casemiro, who is not dynamic enough to handle those central spaces. Secondly, Eriksen is not agile, and the chances of him losing the ball in the area you mentioned are high. Bruno Fernandes is the one tasked with moving into that area due to his ability to create chances and his good mobility. You are addressing tactical details that did not actually occur, my friend, and also do not align with the quality of certain players like Eriksen.

Who was pressing Eriksen, the centre player, on Bruno defender..Omorim was creating 2v1 on the back constantly Bruno and Diallo..That's why he dealt with it by pushing the centre to Bruno, creating a space in the back that is targeted by Brashford

From this video I think there can actually be more room for positivity than United fans have given off, a lot of the problems United encountered were due to personnel but that’s due to injuries as when players are back well likely have Martinez and Yoro at cb instead of Evan’s and mazroui and mainoo and urgate in midfield as well as likely hjoulund up top instead of rashford which I think will fix a lot of Uniteds problems

It looks like Eriksen was given the most jobs and asked to be the most flexible player, that went horribly wrong, but will improve in the next games. If Kobbie can come in and do the same, and they can rotate, Man U will have have a progressing game plan from a 3 line defense. However, I wonder if this means that Bruno and others wont contribute as much, they have to run in order for it to work.

Not necessarily a tactical observation but United looked quite passive out of possession. You highlighted the front 3 but there were other moments where Ipswich were just being allowed to do whatever they liked in other areas and nearly punished United; the top teams will if it's not corrected. Also I thought Ipswich played well, I'll be shocked if they don't stay up and don't start getting more points
