Momentum is a huge reason why it doesn't matter if a defenders know whats coming he can't overcome human limitations and this move takes full advantage of that.

The three most important points are that: 1. Offensive players dictate the play while defensive players react to the play. That means unless you predict movement, you will always be behind. This is why defenders take the initiative to make a tackle to prevent themselves from being reactive all the time but top players read that movement and dribble around them. 2. Top level offensive players vary their play by having multiple potential outcomes in a given play. So if you try to predict movement, you can always get faked out. 3. Even if you do manage to control this for 89 minutes of the match, if you lose once in that one minute and they score a goal, they will haven gotten a crucial goal in a game where the point total is extremely small. That goal may change the result of the game and it would be on you.

The most predictable move is difficult to stop because the inside forward or creative winger can disguise a shot or a cross. Robben switches his trademark move quickly when the fullback thinks he had him figured out only to look stupid and Robben gains the extra yard and scores.

good point with the cricket analogy reminds me of an old verif football video showing all of robbens cut in attempts over one year in his prime. he misses 100 and scores like 5

When i was 15 playing as leftback my coach gave me 20 last minutes in our elders team of 18yrs in their hardest match against the top team in the country to defend their 1 to nul read, and i think my coach he was believing that i am best leftback to stop the all attack coming from that side which was mostly used by their opponent. It all happened in heavy rain but still i managed to stop all crosses and any cut inside passes except backpass and it's kept our side a full time win of 1 to nul and i being honest my technique was to choose side then straighten my hand as long as possible on side of my body where i can't defend and even pointing my fingers that side also tell my opponent to go there. I guess in his mind with my straight hands they was seeing zero options

When I was a kid this kind of goals has been seen rarely, but these days you can see it literally every weekend in any of the top 5 leagues. Inverted wingers killed classic wingers and together with false 9s killed classic 9s and classic 10s as well. As a consequence of killing the classic wingers, we have fewer and fewer perfect crosses from the side, which was ideal for header goals by the classic 9s. With the killing of the classic 10s (along with the appearance of taller goalies, lighter balls and crocodile postures) technical FK goals from 17 to 20 meters simply disappeared, as well as many more eye-catching tricks from their repertoire. These are some reasons why modern football doesn’t need artists like Maradona, Zico, Platini, Baggio, Zidane, Rui Costa, Hagi, Totti, Savicevic, Laudrup, Zola, Mancini, Djalminha, Bergkamp, Valeron, Rivaldo, Giannini, Ronaldinho, Okocha, O’Neill, Aimar, Ortega, Fracescoli, Deco, Sneijder, Hassler, Diego, Le Tissier, Cassano, Scifo, Gourcuff, Berkovic, Mostovoi, Rui Barros, Del Piero, Brolin, Burruchaga, Boban, Littbarski, Stojkovic, Ginola, Futre, De la Pena, Moller, Gary McAllister, Zahovic, Nakata, Nakamura, Coutinho, Karpin, Maxi Moralez, Morfeo, Yakin, Cantona, Fran, Pedros, Guerrero, Ben Arfa, Borja Valero, Giovinco, Yalcin, Hernanes, Riquelme, Pastore, Vasquez, Micoud, Adailton, Denilson, Ozil or Dybala.

your team have the ball your team 1 step ahead, ball carrier made action then defender and GK make reaction later the problem are: 1. can the carrier release the ball or cancel the action before caught by reaction? 2. How good the release when it release into the spot?

For left foot it might be because left footers are just much rarer. This is a common occurrence in any sport that involves both of either feet or legs. I mean goalkeepers will use usually one arm to save both top corners. Some goal keepers are stronger at saving one side of the net.
