He's an living example of the importance of timely crossing. Nowadays, too many wingers do not (or can not) make the crossing as soon as they go the ball. Look at David Backham's crossings, most of them are performed the 2nd touch after the first touch from the switch pass. That's normally the best timing since defenders would not get into the best position after ball switching. But it of course requires strong confident in the passers' passing skill.

yeah but today's game dont work like this, crossing at 2nd touch is low percentage play due to stronger defenses. The winger will be required to try some fancy dribble then cut back. They are told not to cross the ball, it will cause loss in possession.

@@markfish1113 Stronger defenses? You have to be joking? Individual quality has gone down the toilet in the past 10 years with teams playing possession football, flair players being taught out of their playstyle gameplay for a more robotised game with less error. Football used to be a joy to watch now we see less and less of individual quality as we used to. We used to have numerous free kick specialists, you knew what player was good at something, you had playmakers who knew how to find an open space, you had dribblers entertainers who weren't afraid to take risks to make the fans stand up on their seats,... You still have a few of these individuals at top football clubs but they're sadly a rare breed.

@@mesicek7 Defensive play is at all-time high nowadays with analytical companies working for football teams to spot player mistakes. This all came with computer technology saying is better to hold possession than go forward recklessly. In corner kicks and flanks better to cut the ball back for high percentage play. Yeah in the past was more fun to watch football, since Jose Mourinho 2004 start to be boring, he was the first to change the game, then Pep and Jurgen Klopp went for even higher percentages. Sir Alex was the last to succeed without using modern technology.

Beckham didn't have any pace or dribbling ability, that's why he would look to deliver a pass straight away.

Nostalgic.... Reminds me of my childhood days when I used to watch his Manchester United Highlights although when he was playing for Real Madrid. I admired the way he played the game using just his crossing skills and shot techniques to assist the team in winning games. All of his crosses were accurate !!

Yes he is definitely underrated, a rare correct use of the word, i might say. Top 10 all time goalscorer in the premier league, shunned by England, but always on the scoresheet where ever he goes.
David Beckham is a Master of Football. In my Opinion He is a fundamental Player in Building a Football Team. I don't think people even realized how very important and instrumental David Beckham was to any Football team. At what he specialized his game on , He was and still is the Best ever at it in History of football. Yes it is true. I have watched all the most well known legends of the football Game and David Beckham is the best at what he does. He definitely is number 1 pick for me for an all time team. With David Beckham on your team you only need one Solid CB A world Class Goal Keeper , A No-nonsense CDM a clinical and Razor Sharp and ruthless Striker . The rest of the team you can make up from the third division teams or even casual players and you will still have a World beating Team. David mastered the art of Football
These clips is so rare to see, Beckham is definitely a unprecedented football player with his prime in Manchester United, thank you for the highlights.

Receiving a pass from him had to be amazing, dude cares about everything to make his teamates be at the Best positions before touching the ball, most of the times players seems placement and space,.but beckham adapted his strike deppending of the situation, sometimes he delivered a perfect placed conventional Cross, and other moments he did the most unexpected and creative passes to real the defense
