I would also have liked more of our youth players to have been given a go than spend huge amounts on players no better or over the hill, eg’s - Elanga, rather than Antony - Henderson over Onana - Alvaro Fernandez, rather than Malacia - Andreas Pereira, rather than Eriksen or Casemiro Could have saved United almost £200m, which could have been invested on getting 3 or 4 truly elite players aged under 25. Hopefully the lessons have been learnt and United will do better in future.

Getting rid of players will not improve the team. Recruiting better players is what is needed. Man U can only do that slowly so expect slow progress. And, expect progress to start with improving the current squad. They played well enough to beat Bournmouth if you look at possession, xG, shots etc. They played well enough to beat Wolves using same matrices but they are not converting chances. Maybe the chances are not good enough. Maybe some players are not good enough. But Man U cannot wait, that's the biggest problem.

I left Newcastle with my mum when i was 6 years old grew up in Bristol but always came home at ALL school holidays to see me Dad and grand parents. We'd always try and watch a game. Keegan was my hero and that season in 83 i travelled to 4 away games as a 13 year old boy. I moved back to Newcastle in 1990 and got my first season ticket and supported my club through thin and thinner! Yup I've lived every moment of my black and white club which I lovee with all my soul. Funny thing is that the Nufc squad was down and utter championship players when Howe just got down to business and changed the mentality and using a system that suited their abilities, when we signed Botman and Tonali the change would be instrumental to control the pace and play as an upgrade to the erratic gungho style we depended on = strain on players in the long run...now they both been missing for a full season and when Botman is back we will be a regular force to be reckoned with, add a new dynamic winger to that along with our up&coming fullbacks its going to be glorious times...by the way both Manchester clubs struggling is 2 competitors out of bounds🎉

Not been as excited about a normal league away game for years as I am for tonight. Tonali, the superior Bruno and Joe could absolutely DOMINATE their weak midfield. I do like Amorim though, he speaks well and hopefully isn't eaten up by the Man united rubbish. We've got to start strong though. An early goal could demoralise the team and crowd and make things far easier later on.
