Cool video, love the idea. But the 'static jump test' was actually a countermovement jump, not a static jump, and the bleep test bugged me because of the amount of times you turned and continued without the beep... but other than that, loved it. (I'm a sport student, don't @ me)
@omar94khan3 жыл бұрын
Can you explain the intricacies of both drills in detail? I'm genuinely curious
@JJR-Running3 жыл бұрын
@@omar94khan the countermovement jump is what he did, which consists of starting in an upright position, bending the knees and jumping in one fluid motion with hands on the hips, whereas the static jump is the same but starting in a half-squat and holding it for 1-2 seconds before jumping, with hands on hips. The static jump provides raw power from the legs but countermovement jump adds extra momentum so isn't quite as accurate at calculating true power

When you are doing long jumps, when you land, you can't move anymore and you can't touch floor with your hand. It's much easier like that. In middle school I think I jumoed 2.05 meters but I touched ground with hand. Second jump 1.9something and I touched ground again. And last one was 187 and I haven't touched the ground. The FitnessGram™ Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly, but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal. Ding A single lap should be completed each time you hear this sound. Ding Remember to run in a straight line, and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. I didn't understand what it's all about. What is it exactly?
@Rygabo3 жыл бұрын
@@jm-je4tl So there is a distance of 20m - in the video from one cone to the other - and you have to run from one end to the other before the beep. There are 10 beeps per level and it gradually gets faster and faster. Level 1 is pretty much a fast walk. Level 2 is a gentle jog. Levels 3-5 is where it starts to become like exercise and this is where most of the fat kids in our school would bow out in shame. Levels 6-8 is normally when you start to feel fatigued and this was about the school average. At this point you’ve heard the beep 80 times and the horrible, emotionless voice on the tape booms around the school hall telling you for the 8th time that it’s a new level. Levels 8-10 was where the majority of kids that played football/rugby would have to stop as you’re now having to sprint to the other end and your legs are basically jelly after all the bullshit from levels 1-8. Level 10-12 was only achieved by a few and they were mostly long-distance runners. By this point the fat kids had already showered and changed and were waiting for the last kid to drop out so class would end. Good times. Sorry for the long post.
