Hello! I’m sorry you had trouble with Church... I struggled with it a lot too, and I still do. It’s very sad to hear about someone struggling with faith because of a place that is meant to strengthen it. There were a lot of times when I really didn’t want to be there, and it really confused me and made me feel like a bad person. But I’m learning that you don’t have to beat yourself up for the way you feel about things, and it’s not always a bad thing to take a step back. I pray you’re able to heal from whatever wrongs happened there, and that you will be able to one day find a community (whether a Church, small group, etc.) that makes you feel safe and welcomed. Fun fact, I was actually homeschooled too! Only until fourth grade, though. Okay, have a great day! Bye!

Wow! Being a foster parent would be really awesome! My parents were foster parents. I loved having extra brothers and sisters in the house. It was always interesting to say the least. There really are soo many kids struggling to find a safe place to live and grow. Some of my brothers and sisters stories where really heart breaking and it felt great to know that at least while they were with us they were safe. I'm still very close with most of them. We have 3 kids. 2 who are over 18 and an 8 year old. We also have a spare teen who has been living with us for about a year now. He has really come a long way over the year. He was soo angry when he 1st got to us but he's much more relaxed and happy. He smiles every day. He still gets angry about things. I mean who doesn't? But he's learned how to express himself in a healthy way and he knows he has a place to be when he's overwhelmed. He's in therapy every week. He's doing better in school. He has goals and hopes and dreams that he never had before. He's really opening himself up to the world now and that can be a very scary place for a transgender young man. It makes me feel very happy to see the changes taking place.

I love your channel! Being a pastor’s kid, I hadn’t really experienced issues in the church like what I imagine you went through, until recently. Man, for people who call themselves Christians, they can be pretty brutal and savage lol. Honestly, I don’t blame you for your doubts about church. Something I have been reminded about multiple times lately is that those people aren’t real Christians and Christianity is about a relationship with God, not religion and most of them lack exactly that. The word Christian means “little Jesus” and they don’t act the way Jesus would. I hope you find the answers to your questions. Keep up the great work with your channel and can’t wait for more videos! 😊

I'm from germany and I learn right now how to build prostheticlegs. We have a few clients who wear Jeans that have tiny little zipers on the side were the seams are and they are very invisible. they open up kind of all the way, so they are very practical for someone wearing a prosthetic leg. But unfortunately I don't know where they are from and if they can be purchased where you are from. But I see a lot of clients at work wearing them, so I think they buy them like this and don't sew them on their own.

Re: kids section - yeah! That's what I'm talking about! Re: husband - that's so sweet and awesome. Re: homeschooling and upbringing - I feel like we're pretty similar and would make good friends. I never would have pegged you as a Christian, conservative, homeschool kid. Other questions... What was the big trauma when you were 20? You've danced around that a bit but I'm curious to know more... provided you're willing to share. Where in Colorado are you? I grew up in the North Denver metro area so I'm curious. What's your business? How did you get into that? What do you think of devotees, wannabes, and body identity integrity disorder?
@FootlessJo5 жыл бұрын
Hey Kelseigh! I think these are awesome questions! Thanks for watching and for being interested, your support seriously means so much to me! :-) So, the trauma at 20 was pretty complex but in short, I was in a really abusive (emotionally, physically, sexually, spiritually) relationship with an older guy, a pastor in my church, that involved a lot of worsening sexual abuse and assault. There's a looooot more to it than that, but that's the basic story. I'm in Colorado Springs! And the other questions, I think are definitely worth videos of their own, so be on the lookout for those soon :-)

with the driving, you might want to check your insurance and state laws, I've read somewhere that it can be a requirement to have somewhere to put your "foot" such that it can't possibly slip underneath the pedals and stop you from being able to use them (warning for everyone else - this is a common cause of accidents in summer with people wearing flip flops)

You are an outstanding role model , I love watching your videos and love that your sharing your experiences with everyone! Also I am curious if you could better describe phantom feelings?
@FootlessJo5 жыл бұрын
Keith Richmond aw thank you so much! 😊 So I think the best way to describe phantom sensation is I just honestly feel my foot still there - like if I close my eyes, I “feel” both my feet the same sometimes. I can wiggle all my toes, but on my amputated leg, it will feel like my toes are slow to move or stuck sometimes. The phantom pain is a whole other story, it changes a whole lot (but is a lot better than it was) but often feels like a cattle prod at the bottom of my foot, just tons of electricity. I know it’s super bizarre haha. Our brains have a map of all our limbs so even when they’re gone they still try to send signals there!

8:50 You don't need to go over the foot at all. Take your suspension sleeve and stuff it into the leg, and put the pants over the socket. Basically putting the pants on the leg from the tom rather than the bottom (foot).

Yeah, Homeschool. We homeschooled our 3 who are now successful 30 something adults. What? There are no classic homeschooled activities. Just good learning with a wide variety of experiences. Chickens must be a Colorado thing. Before you stopped the gabapentin, did you try it for just at night? That is my wife's most sensitive time. An itchy big toe can disrupt her sleep. She has not be up to trying to stop even though she can start up if she needs to. So, do you have a Keasy cone inside your socket that can be trimmed and padded ? My wife is getting cast for her second socket, Eilene II, on Monday at 8 weeks since her first steps. It will be a snug fit 3 mm Ossur pin socket sleeve with no Keasy cone. No more layer upon layer. She's lost 7 cm of circumference. Maybe a Maverick or Echelon foot to upgrade from her K-2. She won't drive yet. The suspension sleeve makes it to difficult to pull her right leg away from the gas pedal. I made her a left foot gas pedal before her surgery. She has already driven left foot last summer before surgery. You are looking and sounding so good. Maybe you could foster am amputee child some day.
