Everyone tells me to " cut" it off. Im like" you crazy?". They don't understand. Seeing your videos makes me think I did/ do the right thing by keeping it. Thank you for the videos

There has to be some kind of deodorant that kills off the yeast that is causing that smell. I was in bodybuilding and athletes use this same rubberized fabric to.lose water weight. Many women will recognize that smell from under their boobs after sweating and not changing right away.. In treatment of elders, it becomes quite the problem with sores that form wherever this yeast overgrowth occurs. We had patients with prosthetics in the clinic I worked in get these friction sores due to yeast based skin degradation. I just do not understand why this problem still has not been solved. So frustrating.

I'm glad you try to relate to your sister's situation. Why don't you talk to your sister directly about it? I'm sure she will appreciate it a lot if you show interest in what life as an amputee means to her. Probably even more so than when you get the info from a stranger on the internet, whose situation, solutions and coping are probably a bit or a lot different to your sister's. You can also ask your sister how she wishes people would treat and help her. "Just ask for help if you need anything" is a very passive offer and leaves it to the other person to reach out to you when things are already rough. Asking "how can I help you / what do you need / what needs to change/improve to make things easier for you?" is much more helpful to people with a disability or chronic or mental illness and gives you the chance to directly help and leave a positive impact.

@@quinquiry People sweat at different rates. Don't assume if someone has a problem they are not being hygienic. Now that I am older, health issues cause my feet to sweat more and for the first time in my life I get stinky feet in the summer even if I'm keeping on top of it. (I rotate my shoes if they are not sandals.) One of my relatives never wore socks when we were young for this reason. I now understand the cotton soggy sock is miserable. Does it work on your stump sock? It would be terrible if the Lume deo made her leg not stick to the rubber like sock and it came loose. She specifically said to make her leg stick to her.....get it? I'm sure shes tried everything.

Man… I TRIED TO LIKE LUME. I bought all scents at once, of there cream odor blocker stuff…. And again… I TRIED really hard to like it, even trying it on multiple times to see if I could get past the stench…. But I couldn’t. lol. I’m sorry guys… but LUME… straight up smells like a pre teen mid puberty’s 2 week old ripe (3x worn in a row) stanky schweaty football socks, that have been left to fester and stay continually moist, approaching moldy, next to a mega damp shower towel that’s kept those confusingly wet yet crusty, to continue to marinate in bacteria heaven. LOL. So LUME has a base/undertone scent of 👆🏼 that nasty nonsense with an odd twist of Lavender (or whatever the other scents are). I can best explain it as if the straight up made a scent that comes from someone already trying to mask a grotesque foul stench already, but there lavender didn’t do the trick, it just mixed with the rotten odor lol

I've worn prosthetic legs since I was a baby, and oddly I have the same liners! The great thing about those liners is that they can be frequently washed. Something I recommend for other amputees is to take breaks if they can and try to air out. It'll help keep down the smell but it'll also keep you from getting athlete's foot or any other moisture related skin issues.
@samuelwoods1642 жыл бұрын
Do you have sudocrem where you come from... it's mainly used for babies nappy rash but honestly it's good for everything (antiseptic, cuts, sunburn, acne) I went through school acne free because of that stuff, I'd imagine it would be fantastic for amputees to stem things like sweat rash or athletes foot before it develops and I'd imagine if applied before putting on the socks etc. Would stop many of the smells from developing.... if you haven't tried it I'd seriously reccomend, I know girls who have sensitive skin who use it like an face mask so they don't get anything like blemishes from make up.

I’m 62. When I was 18, I worked the summer before college at a Rax Roast Beef restaurant. They had me dress as “Beefy The Cow.” I had to wear a suit like the characters at Disneyworkd. This was in June, July and August. I stood on the sidewalk just out from the parking lot and waved at people to remind them of our grand opening. I was permitted inside every 20 minutes to get something to drink. But they didn’t realize I also needed to change my clothes I wore under that suit because they were drenched. So I had to bring several changes of clothing to swap out into in the bathroom. I worked 3 months like that. Before I left for college, I trained another person to take my place. They only lasted one day. They said no way were they going to stay inside that suit sweating like that. So I was the one and only Beefy The Cow for that restaurant. I understand what this young lady is talking about. PS I’m vegan now. 😊
