The main cast of the original came from a theater and musical background and none were professional dancers or even trained intensively. For example, Kevin Bacon did all his own dances in the film because he could dance, but the more complicated dances were done by stunt/dance doubles. Whereas in the remake, several of the main cast are dancers who also dabble in acting.
