In this session we highlight the key objectives of the workshop followed by an honest reflection of Brannigan’s career to date. We then begin understanding the Footprint by starting with the conclusions behind why the Footprint is such an invaluable tool. We then begin our journey of the how the footprint tool came about, the history of the tool and how this tool compares to other traditional tools like the Market Profile, the Price Ladder, book-map and traditional charting tools. The path then follows a comparative analysis between the various tool and highlights the advantages and disadvantages of the Footprint tool.
The Footprint tool is explained in its basic sense in comparison to traditional candlesticks. We go through all the variables that can be found within this footprint tool and how these variables add unique information, trading principles and practical applications. A great deal of time is spent ensuring the basic elements are understood in its entirety. We then move onto setting up the Footprint tool, the various settings available to users and why settings are crucial to understand. The crucial concept of information funneling is dealt with in basic sense and is built upon through rest of the day. We then move onto the key principles that govern the footprint tool and begin the process of interpreting and developing footprint storytelling. Auctioning, Rotations, One-time framing, Liquidity, Volatility, Intention and Price dynamic, Initiative and Responsive price change, Relative Change, Trigger Prices. Each principle is dealt with individually with practical examples and application applied in order to drive home the key understanding behind each principle. The session then concludes with questions and answers from the audience.

The Footprint Bid/Ask volume? Is it actual market buy and sell contracts entered into--in other words the Buy side volume would be Longs actually bought plus Shorts closed and the Sell side volume would be longs sold plus Shorts opened? Or is it just the volume at a given price probed by buyers and sellers and not necessarily concluded at that price? Are Shorts opened sell side volume or buy side volume?

Great video and I'm looking forward to the next two. You mention several times, however, that price moves because there are more buyers than there are sellers and vice versa, but my understaning of the futures market is that for every buyer of a contract there has to be a seller, and for every seller, a buyer. Doesn't price move up because of agressive buyers at market or the ask, and the price goes down because of agressive selling at market or on the bid?

The more aggressive party is being aggressive by hitting into the market and not sitting passively using limit orders to get filled. So say buyers are the more aggressive party, and thus hitting in with a larger number of market bid orders, relative to the number of passive offers sitting on the limit, so as these fewer seller limit offer orders get cleared at each price by the buyers market bid orders, it is the excess market orders from buyers causing the price to rise so they can be met and thus filled with limit orders to be filled from(the concept of every buy must be met with a sell and vice versa). Thus when there is low liquidity (i.e. a small number of contrasting limit orders sitting on the book) price can often move very violently as these smaller number of limit orders are eaten up quicker, than an cases with higher liquidity being provided at those prices, causing price to bid up quicker.

When we see a 0 at the top or bottom of the wick....is it becuase theyre were no more contract to be bought or no entered the trade....if so....why the price did not go higher or lower as there was an imbalance thanks

I don't know your name sir but if you could answer my one question I would appreciate it. In The bid x ask setup if someone buys price goes up and vice-versa. My question is it's not gonna be like 450 x 200 in 1 sec and the next second it's 155 x 55. It's more like 5 x 10 | 0 x 3 | 9 x 8 | 10 x 2 in every second it's changing. Prices go up and down, so if someone sells 200 contracts it won't be sold at once. Then how will we decide if buyers are strong or seller until the timeframe is closed?????

The entire premise is based on the idea that you have access to the actual order flow and volume from central banks which you don't, this is just data extrapolated visually, its still a lagging indicator.

Why do the people in this video keep obsessing about algorithms? All of the algorithms I use carry out human based strategies. They look at TA indicators and then scan level 2 and execute based on tape speed. It's no different to what a human would do. They are just limit orders so even if a bot beats you in the queue it doesn't matter ad everyone's order gets filled at the same price. I've noticed price patterns created by algorithms that are easy to manually exploit as a human trader.
