Hello Rahdo! Maybe that will sound weird but I feel the vibe of "The castles of Burgundy". In Stefan Feld's game I pick a dice that indicates a warehouse with certain bonuses and here I pick a path (marsh/snow etc.) to traverse and receive some benefits too. And as far as I can see there are a lot of ones to choose from like in "The castles..." =) Greetings from Poland!

It is easy to think of Maglev Metro as a pick up and deliver game, but really it is an engine builder. As you build up your engine, you can build more stations, lay more track, pick up more passengers and traverse your track quicker to drop passengers off more efficiently.

Sounds like a Mix of Guild of Merchant Explorers and CloudAge...

Lewis and Clark maybe?

ah i forgot all about L&C though that really is more of a deckbuilder because you keep recalling your hand and continuing. this game with the hyper fixed resource pool really does feel different. goof reference though! :)

@rahdo absolutely, but i think you asked if there was another game that did an engine building thing with movement and that's what came to mind. This seems to feel different for sure more spacial vs linear and indefinite turn race vs 14 turns with the race being secondary. I wonder though if it's thinky enough for my group. I can't tell from the playthrough.

@@lajeitIn my opinion, it’s pretty thinky. Players are trying to maximize each turn.

Automobiles? In that you're building an engine with the goal of moving faster around the track.

played it recently. confusing iconography and poor color scheme. also I was expexting it to be more of a race. it ended up being moving on the map to gather resources and to complete footprint cards. I think El Dorado is a superior game.
