katie boyle is now one my heroes (heroine to be PC and respectful) its kinda tough to learn from people in my town, theres alot of snobby fiddle players and stuff at some of the sessions here. even when i take a tune that they know and i make my own interpretation of it that happens to be cooler than their version they kinda still stick their nose up at me. @HarryHotspur100 speed because its hard and shes still tearing these tunes up. anyone can play a tune cookie-cutter style.

I think she has added her own "quirks" to it... I learnt the Jack Daniels reel from sheet music note perfect. And it it don't sound like hers! But then again she's F$%*ing amazing and i ain't! thesession .organisation. this has midi and sheet music to nearly everything. hope that helps :-)

:) What jealousy! Tunes have been played at that speed for centuries and people have enjoyed them like that for so long too. Just because you have some pathetic point to make you come and insult someone online. I hope you learn to have a wider appreciation of tunes past a beginners speed too - especially when played with accuracy I am guessing you might never be able to achieve..! I hope you can deal with my honest opinion too!

I see she's brilliantly coordinated, but just like HarryHotspur, I didn't enjoy it. See John Morris Rankin playing Jack Daniel's reel on youtube - The Limehill Set.

She must not be very large. That fiddle looks like a viola on her.
@bonenfant9610 жыл бұрын
She's very good but.... Gerry Holland's Reel doesn't honor it's composer a lot. Seems to me that when we play someone's reel, it should resemble the way 'that someone' composed it. I might be wrong but maybe not.
@HarryHotspur10011 жыл бұрын
No, I still can't enjoy this! I realise it's unpopular not to 'like' it. Somehow I can't. Far,far too slow for me. I don't have all day,you know. Now I think I'll switch over to some uber-largo slow air just to get the toes tapping.Of course there are so so many tunes around and if a fiddler's going to play them all... Hell, it's time for some East Clare stuff, I think. I grow bewildered with all this admonition.
@HarryHotspur10011 жыл бұрын
'Jealousy', 'pathetic point', 'insult' ? You misrepresent me entirely. I did not enjoy it. I'm truly sorry that I stated the fact. Mea maxima culpa. Ní dhéanfaidh me arís é. Now once more with passion and feeling.. Oh, and speed it up a bit!
