I was annoyed with Mathew Scarlett when he punched Hayden Ballantyne, because he didn't hit him hard enough.

Garry Snr. full forward... Shy. M. Scarlett full back... Shy. Normal people just being themselves and humble, hating the limelight regardless of their genuine awesomeness as an AFL player.

I just had a chat with a cardboard box. It had as much personality as Matthew Scarlett.

That's harsh, he is a very shy and to himself kind of person.

Silvagni played on the big forwards. Scarlett an absolute gun but never defended against the best forwards
@taxads77912 жыл бұрын
@@kingwillbisthebest Debatable, because when SOS played, the key forwards tended to stay close to goal & run to certain spots. When Scarlett played, there were many different types of key forwards, hulking types, running types, versatile types, pinch hitters such as resting ruckmen. One week he might be playing on a A. Lynch type who wrestles a lot & then the week after on Riewoldt who runs everywhere, even into midfield areas. Therefore, some aspects of the game was harder for full backs in Scarlo's days. Both outstanding players, great discussion point anyway.

Strange watching this in 2021. Very bland and blunt character really. Notice how every time he gets the ball at full back, he would turn and attack. Not something we see from the current crop under the Scott game plan.

Scraping the bottom of the barrel. Met him down in Hobart in 2015 at the Salamanca markets at a local cafe. Tried to cut the line in front of me. Total flog.
