"way too much" huh? 400,000 spectators per round. What's general admission nowadays? $30‽ that's around $12,000,000 per round. Television rights, $100,000,000 merchandise, $50,000,000 The afl makes a lot of money for doing nothing more than administration. The players, who we love to watch, should be getting a lot more than $1,000,000 that doesn't even by a house. They are the best, of the best, of the best.

Doesn’t the league do pretty well ? I only get 2 games a week in Canada but any game with Collingwood seems to draw 70-90 k fans Nfl teams that are drawing that sort of fans are making enough money to pay some guys over 50-60 M per year Obv much more tv money but I woulda expected higher contests for afl stars based on attendance
