It’s interesting to think about how common police brutality is in these neighborhoods. I’m a white male who grew up in a relatively wealthy neighborhood in Boston, MA, and went to school with a black girl from the much poorer neighborhood of Dorchester. From what she told me, people lose friends and family members left and right. I almost feel guilty that I never had to go through something like that.

Don’t feel guilty Owen. You’ve acknowledged what you “had” verses what you didn’t like many others do and that means awareness. As a black woman I don’t desire for whites to feel guilty and condemned . I don’t desire special treatment. I desire for White Americans to be informed, empathetic, and doers of that mindset. On one side of the spectrum White Americans like yourself fight guilt and on the other end Africans in America like myself fight shame. We are both constantly grappling with the ideas of who and what society says we ought to be. Don’t let those demons win.

Shes currently a scammer and now has two children. Lazy and doesn't help herself if her life depended on it. Not worth the check up

This was a great. Too bad she grew up in a draining environment. The potential was always there but if you’re surrounded by negativity all the time, then life is much harder. I’ve been there.

I watched the movie from Tubi. The story about the girl, who has a caring mother, school staff who cares of her and puts so much effort to help her graduate. But the girl doesn't seem to care much. To me she just seems lazy... Maybe I don't get it, because I'm from different part of the world and have different mentality, but those kids in the movie seem super lazy to me. And super disrespectful, the way they talk to others.
