Remember that the big banks are evil and will try and steer you away from the goodness, fee free network of Square's Cash App.
(Evil banks: Angry Bank as seen in, "How To Make A Movie The Movie dot com", and of course the usual suspects, Bank of America, Chase, Citi and Wells Fargo. Seems like US Bank is also on the evil crew).
These banks will make you jump through hoops to steer you away from Cash App where you can buy and sell BTC and cash FOR NO FEES!. They want you to use Zelle or Chive or some crap. Jack Dorsey don't care about your dumb cash fees. Last year Square made most of their money from small fees on stock trades which you can also buy on Cash App.

Been poking around sampling your vids. It's great to see someone else that likes Madisound. I discovered Madisound back in the mid 80s and used them all the time for car and home audio. Saved a ton of money and never regretted it. I'm so glad they are still in business. I even bought a pair of their DIY ready to assemble bookshelf speakers to build with my teen son several years ago for fun. He's still using them as an adult on his computer/integrated amp setup.

Replacing my 6.5 alpine type s coaxials in my truck doors with some silver flute 6.5. Undecided on tweeters yet but have some kicker 1” silk domes with crossovers from an old resolution component set i ran in the late 90s. probably use those since i have them already but think i may have some other old tweeters from the same time frame from JBL also. The alpines sound decent for the 65 bucks i paid but hoping to improve the SQ a little on a low budget.

Finally found a friend and someone like me. Thank you for the channel. By the way, here's a tip for ya car stereo crazies: For the last 'too many years', I buy "home" speakers with the sizes I need for my car,. Disassemble the cabinets and put those speakers in my cars (keeping the cabinets for future builds for the home). Have you heard a decent inexpensive car speaker sound better than bookshelf speaker? Never! You just got to deal with the speakers being 8 ohm instead of 4 ohm, and your good! No the home speakers (at least the "decent" ones) do not get torn up being in the car and work fine for years and years without sound quality suffering. Been doing that since the '90's with great results. Need some 5 1/4 inch speakers, find ya a decent set of bookshelf speakers with 5 1/4 woofers new or used. And as for the tweets, it's always. always better to go component than coaxial speakers. A little extra work and you will get a much better sounding stereo in your car, something to be proud of compared to coaxial speakers.. And 3 way so much better than 2 way speaker systems ! Also, I guess 2 tips: Buy a marine grade boat stereo for your car. They are built much better, and generally offer more features at the same or reduced price. Thanks, and crank it up!

I’m looking to build a 10” or 12” down firing sealed sub with granite base plate. I’m thinking I might purchase from Madisound. Any suggestions on a woofer and plate amp that might be good for this application? 👍🏻🔈
@RobotUnderground
@RobotUnderground 2 жыл бұрын
It just depends on budget. I'm not a fan of plate amps as they seem to charge a premium for power. You'll want one with a variable bass EQ / boost though for that sealed box. I might have something here for you at a discount. Text me when you have your driver picked out or at least the budget. 6023126504

Keep in mind, MCM was acquired by Newark, which is not an audio components supplier and probably will not have the patience necessary to cater to the audio enthusiast market in the future. They're blowing out the remaining stock of MCM's speakers at prices much lower than they would sell them for if they were planning to make a core business out of them. MCM used to price those drivers higher than what Newark has them at now, because audio was a core business for MCM. My belief is that eventually Newark will stop reordering these, if not already, and will exit the audio industry entirely.

I kinda wanna go 3 way with the Dayton Audio RS52AN-8 and the Peerless by Tymphany DX25TG59-04 tweeter. I imagine the tweeter is hard to beat considering ot goes for $20 already. I wonder if there's a cheaper dome midrange, or maybe I can get away with a cone one. Although if the reviews are to be believed the RS52AN-8 is capable of TOTL performance within 600Hz-4kHz while costing $45 a piece. Wonder if that 8 inch carbon fiber woofer would be the best missing link. And of course the other 2 choices are NOT set in stone. Edit: Also any opinions on the Exodus Anarchy?

Better to just run a 2 way with a good tweeter like that. It depends on what you're trying to do as well. You can cross up the tweeter 2 octaves for better power handling. For a normal 2 way though, 1.5k is fine.

Meh, cabinets are as varied as your imagination. I have my GONZO tweeters in a pair I made for my wife when I was in Hawaii in the 90's. She uses them for her desktop. African mahogany veneer on MDF. There was only one guy on the island that was doing it and I did an install for him and he gave me lots of scraps to play with. That's about as fancy as I got before I was like, "This is work for a professional", and realized that I can make more money selling to then pay a pro to do it. My design of course. I try to like Parts Express, especially since they are an Ohio company, and not far from me. They carry alot of inventory, and usually have what you want in stock. But at the same time, much of their stuff (drivers) are "copycat" or Chinese black market products - to me anyway. Yet there is not much of a discount. Probably because there is not alot of competition in their market.Now Madisound, I want to like too. Actually I have no choice as it is my goal to do a speaker build with some SB Audience drivers, and Madisound is the ONLY U.S. distributor. But I've talked to them, and asked some very pertinent info regarding some of the products they carry, and got alot of "audiophile BS" that my questions were "subjective" - and there really isn't a single answer?? For frequency response of a driver and wattage (RMS)? But they do have alot of DIY help, and carry quality components. I just hate when people talk down to you, when really you should be treated like a customer, and they have a sense of urgency to land a sale, and get a new customer (I'm not just a lover of the music, I'm also a musician so yeah I have better understanding of stereo equipment than the average person. Yet was treated rudely.) It really didn't seem like they wanted to sell me the product I asked about. And ultimately I didn't purchase it out of spite. Hopefully, my next dealings with Madisound is with a different employee/owner and things go more smoothly. Thanks for the video!
