For Better, for Worse (Gloria Swanson, Elliott Dexter)

Sylvia Norcross (Swanson) is in love with and engaged to Dr. Edward Meade (Dexter). His friend, Richard Burton, is also in love with Sylvia. When Meade and Burton both enlist to fight in WWI, Sylvia's ecstatic. However, Meade has to stay at home to continue his important work with pediatric patients. Sylvia assumes that he is afraid to fight, and marries Burton on the rebound. When Burton is declared missing and presumed dead, will Sylvia go back to Meade?
