Nick says the 22' Eagles defense was as good as this years defense. The only Eagles game he watched in 22' was the Superbowl and this year he hasn't watched a single Eagles game. The only thing they did well in '22 was sacks. But if you had a team that would just dink and dunk, And the pass rush couldn't get home(slippery field?) it was game over. This years defense is way way better. The only thing they are worse at is QB pressure and sacks. PPG, yards per game, passing and run defense, takeaways, tackling, and scheme are all better this year. The LB's, CB's and Safeties are better. You name it, this team is better all around.

Yeah our pass rush was elite, but that was literally it. We also had multiple liabilities on our offense that year and upgraded weaker pieces. It’s at the point where freakin Jalen Hurts, who is literally only 2nd in the league to Patty in Ws & other stats, is our “weakest link” on O

This is such revisionist history. Slay was a pro bowler that year and bradberry was 2nd team all-pro. Maddox was top 10 in the slot. Cjgj probably would have been allpro or at least a pro-bowler if he hadn’t gotten hurt. This years defense is #1 when they dont get pressure. Ask any Eagles fan that watched that team. They lived and died by the pass rush in 22. This years defense is almost the opposite. They had the fewest sacks in the league through like 6 weeks and were still a top unit. Honestly I think secondary is the the strength of this defense.

I’m stealing this from Mina Kimes.. but in ‘22 the pressure was the defense.. apparently their EPA per play was 24th in the league when they didn’t get pressure with that dominant front.. this year, they’re 1st in the league in EPA per play when they don’t get pressure.. basically, they’re just a lot more balanced.. which is what it looks like.. it’s the first time in a long time I’ve seen this kind of performance at every level of the defense.. it’s not just one unit making the others look good.. As with most of their games this year jalen doesnt need a big game and his coaches dont even want him to try for a big game. Just dont turn the ball over, hand it off to saquon and let your running game and defense win like youve been doing. The 2022 Eagles did NOT have an elite defense at all. Elite pass-rush? Absolutely. They would be on the Quarterbacks within 2 seconds, making it really hard for them to throw. Unfortunately, our secondary had many issues that were exposed weeks prior by quarterbacks that are good/elite caliber such as Kyler Murray, Dak Prescott, Aaron Rodgers, and finally, Patrick Mahomes. All of those guys put up points against us cuz they realized that if they can just escape the pocket and neutralize the pass-rush, our secondary is swiss cheese

Having won two SBs in a row may work against the Chiefs since they'll go in expecting to win (look at 16-0 Patriots outcome). He relied on a lot of help after the catch from his receivers so it'll be a challenge for him to repeat against this version of Eagles D.
