The amazing thing about this is that Canada basically stood in for the United States for the first 2 years of ww2 holding the fort with the other commonwealth countries until the U.S. joined the fight ar the end of 1941

Great point. Canada helped stem the tide until Uncle Sam came in to end to finally end things.

Yeah, I think it was on "Battle 360" that I saw them do an episode on the Canadians fighting in France with the Sherman tanks. Those tanks scary. Yeah, if you're inside one you might be immune to machine gun fire but other tanks or those German 88's could tear a tank crew apart. It's nice having that armor but sometimes that armor is the first thing catching enemy fire. And if that fire is armor piercing rounds the tanks are no refuge. And the thing about the submarines, idk, it just seems dirty & dishonorable. Especially to torpedo & sink merchant ships with crews that are just sailors trying to make a living. Idk, I don't really want to say that the U-boat crews deserved to be sunk along with their sub but with them sinking merchant ships like that I guess maybe I'll just say you get what you pay for. Or you pay for what you do. Either way.... Plus some subs sinking Passenger Liners too, now those deserve worst than what I can even think of atm!
