first thing that came to mind when I first knew of Joyce D, She is 1. intelligent inherently, 2. absolutely musical, and 3. of course good-soul, Thank you, Joyce, You had been such inspirational. I had been quite depressed recently, and watching (almost all of ur) your master classes helped me out of it. I would think about watching more of your master classes and get the energy to live the day. Can you believe it?

Not a student but learning still of course... I love every minute of your talks. You give us hope in these so difficult times. Singing with love from the heart...yes. That's what it's about. Thank you for sharing this.

Loved watching this. Joyce is an extremely talented and intelligent yet unpretentious person, especially given her success.. I am not the target audience for this, I studied singing a long time ago but now I'm just an audience member. But I loved what you had just say, I agree wholeheartedly and wish I had somebody tell me all of this 30 years ago.

Women usually scare me, but you Joyce, are one of the exceptions. I love how down-to-Earth and humble you are. How I wish someone had told me "we're all afraid" and "we're all making it up as we go along" twenty years ago! Next week, I'm writing an article based on "The Voice Must Be Heard" for survivors of abuse. Stay tuned.....

I believe you can teach better than you give yourself credit for. You know the basics of breath support, using pure vowels to bring brilliance to your voice and the way you teach singers to break down coloratura runs down to avoid getting stuck in a groove or certain tempo is quite brilliant if you ask me! Reading the treatise on voice of Lamperti, Garcia, Mancini, Lilli Lehmann, Caruso and Tetrazzini these will give you everything you need. You're quite wonderful as an artist and masterclass teacher. Plus you've been a huge ally of the LGBTQ community. What's not to love! Stay safe during the pandemic.

That truly is a lot of love sent, and received, and thrown right back at you! This is the gentle, but clear, kick in the behind that I, that we all need. Times are, at best, uncertain, but there are certitudes: I am a singer and a teacher, and while I may not live in a perfect beach house in Spain, ahem :) I am certain of who I am, and who I want to emerge as from this situation. Thank you very much, stay well, in hopes to see/hear you again, soon! Love, from Québec!

I will start by writing what I always think every time I see a video of yours, Joyce, or every time I see what you are doing...(including briefly meeting you in person): I love you, Joyce!!! I wanted to be a great opera singer and the process has taken me to be a voice teacher...Yes! Improvisation all the way, improving and learning all the way, it’s a magical way to keep learning! Amazing! I don’t know if I had thoroughly known the voice and learned this much as a singer...Yes! Great time to learn and keep studying about the voice, my students, with more time at and focus at their hands are reaching amazing things. We Will continue to perform, we Will continue to be able to show our art, we will always find the way to be bring music to the people...people love it, have love it and will always love it. We are finding new ways these days. Again, I love you, Joyce! “Did you ever know that you’re my héroe? You’re everything I would like to be...”🎵🎶🎵💕🙏🏼

Yes. Extraordinary time. Even this older singer...me, not Joyce...has found a newer, richer sound. Dmitri Hvorostovsky has been a strong, leading influence for me as I've explored my voice in isolation. We can work with the tools we have to reach the next level, the next goal, the next version of ourselves. Thanks, Joyce, for your time and reflections. I'm afraid I won't be hearing you in Kansas City with Palm d'Oro. I hope I'm wrong!
