very nice. i drive a TM140 with a mcConnel pa6570t at moment but we getting a shelbourne reynolds 875vfrt with a 5ft head not to shour if the tm140 will be heavy enuf for it eany thourts on that one

I guess he will leave half of his hedges uncut this year and then do the opposite next year, this means that half of his hedges will always have 2 years of growth for birds and other animals 👍

I leave the hedges if they have berries in them but this time of year most of berries have already been eaten by the birds.

@@Itsafarminglifeforme you may already now this but we grow a lot of top fruit (apples ,pears ) here in Kent and there is no season to when the hedges can be cut, like roadsides they can be cut all year round .don’t know why .

What purpose does a hedge row serve? You spend a lot of time trimming them. Could you replace them with a fence?

Hedges are very good for wildlife, many birds nest in them in the spring

Hedges are a protected habitat and it is against the law to remove them,but I agree it is very costly to maintain them.

The hedges were left originally to define the boundary of each parcel of land .now they are valued for the wildlife habitat they offer and it is illegal to remove them without consent ,money can be offered to plant new hedges and it is considered good farming practice to keep them trimmed.

In 1968 I was being paid to take hedges out, Ministry of Ag grants ! Then about 1970 they encouraged use of all offal as animal protein addition...and so mad cow disease was born.. really good having a Ministry of Ag, now DEFRA. !!!

We are not allowed to take out hedges in the uk without planning permission and that is almost never granted!
