I have followed other tutorials based on this song, but this is the best one. I like how you learn the chords, the strum and the riff all at once, so if you get bothered by one thing, you practice the other. And in the end you can almost seem to be a semi-competent guitar player, LOL

Great Job, I'm a beginner, took a 8 wk group guitar class at the Local recreation Center, it was just okay, I'm also doing Jamplay online, but you were phenomenal. My weakness is the strumming and cord changes and this will help me in both. Watching you, I just noticed that the cord switch occurs at the first completion of the Strumming segment. Didnt really know when to switch to new cord. I was getting bored just going from cord to cord on a metronome, C-A-G-E-D- and Back to C

@@HeartwoodGuitarInstruction a G third verse
@HeartwoodGuitarInstruction2 жыл бұрын
@@mcburnski Good point. The backing vocals are definitely suggesting movement from an A to G to E when they harmonize their "Oohs." Are the guitars getting in on the action? Maybe...? Or they might just be hitting an A7 (which adds a G note to the A chord). On the other hand, the bass sounds parked on an A root note through that section. So the song is straddling G and A. I certainly wouldn't say it's "incorrect" to not put a G in the chart. But I'm going to bring up this subtle point from now on when I teach the song, so thanks!
@mcburnski2 жыл бұрын
@@HeartwoodGuitarInstruction yeah, it's just a quick G in-between the A and E. I've actually watched a few lessons that miss out the C in the chorus as well! Sorry, i shouldn't have been so rude in the first place. I've only just discovered your channel and it excellent. Hopefully i will learn a lot.

@RobHampton5 жыл бұрын
If it's the skin on the fingertips, keep playing, but try not to get blisters. After a few weeks of discomfort, you'll start developing callouses, and life gets a lot better.

I'm trying to learn this simple song but I can't get to the truth easily. There are different takes on what to play at the chorus. As I watch Stills play this song live it seems clear that there is no C" chord. It's some version of a B flat dim...? The problem with that is that singing harmony to that chord doesn't sound right. Anyone know the truth?
