Divya, I already knew she would bring consistent wins but Vantika also developed good amount of respect for her consistency in my perspective.....

@@simon-gh1pt Of course, what I was talking about was she seems glued to chess and chess related activities itself, and not seen her any podcasts or something other than chess like that. Each state in India speaks a different language and with that comes a different accent. Not every Indian sounds like the stereotypical "South Indian" accent that world knows so well.
@joyidАй бұрын
Our stereotypical accent is not exclusive to the South. It's a common misconception. Anyone who doesn't make an effort to improve their pronunciation may exhibit the stereotypical accent. Many people here simply lack the motivation to correct their speech.
@joyidАй бұрын
Neeraj Chopra and Manu Bhaker are from the same place, but they talk very differently. Neeraj Chopra has trouble saying words clearly and doesn't try very hard to fix it. Manu Bhaker, on the other hand, talks much better and has a clearer accent. This shows that even people from the same area can speak very differently.

Why aren't the best female players in the tournament though? Both China and Ukraine didn't bringt their top players. Is it to take a break and/or give other players a chance to get tournament experience? I wonder how Divya would have performed against the big guns, because she almost exclusively played against 2300s while being almost 2500 ELO.
