I love north Carolina. It was heaven for mushroom all year around. I visited Gastonia and king's mountain in the summer. There were mushrooms everywhere! Stunning

Which mushrooms taste like bacon? I remember having a wild mushroom that was fried when I was a kid and it was the most delicious mushroom I’ve ever tasted and it tasted very much like bacon! I don’t know enough about mushrooms to know how to describe it, plus it was so long ago I don’t remember too well anyway, but I think it was like somewhere between an oyster mushroom or chanterelle and maybe like, hen of the woods? It could’ve been one of those. I’m not sure. Maybe someone here knows? Oh and the region it was from was the northeastern US, specifically Rhode Island.

Y’all don’t realize that mushrooms are alive. And not like plants either. They can move around and they can feel pain. You ain’t ever gonna catch me eating one. 😬

Why would it be able to feel pain if it can’t respond to it? It might be able to feel touch, and release spores or pheromones or something, but they lack the pain receptors and nervous system necessary to actually feel what we know as pain. I can assure you, you’re not going to threaten a mushroom.
