I think getting free products just because you can say something about them is awful a good job we don't all do this! Your videos are twice a week and I think you are filling them with very boring things like seeing a truck try to get up a road why do you think we would like to see this. Your lives seem filled with struggle so how can you keep talking and walking with the camera so close to your face about how great it is this is not truthful. I am old and I think today's technology has produced some very peculiar channels and people who want to be praised for doing up a property. I am glad there are other things to watch!

Our 3 kids grew up often not wearing shoes, always scrambling over earth,, grass , sand, and rocks. Climbing trees and exploring nature in Australia was our normal. They are now adults and sometimes revert back to bare feet because it just feels so lovely to connect with the earth. No harm done and so many happy memories. Parent your own way, you are doing great 👍

It is so refreshing to see parents that aren’t regulated by fear. As an older person and parent of a different time I was criticized if our babies were dirty or “out of control” So I stressed out worrying about how my house and children looked. Then my children’s generation were ruled by safety issues and protecting their children from everything. Which is impossible anyways. Things are swinging back to a more relaxed parenting style. It’s great to see.

Sawyer is just such a gem! He's got the most infectious smile and giggle! 🥰 Those mushies are outrageous! The size of them is just beyond it all and makes me really wish I liked them - Adam loves them so I shall share the recipe with him😊 Not that I wasn't paying due attention to the path building, but I saw a sneaky glimpse of... a digger! The initials in the setting concrete 🥰 I know you said you think Sawyer might be the more naughty of the two boys, but in his defence, he has had a big brother to teach him and someone did pop him into an "Explore" top, so he was just doing as it said 😉 Feet shmeet! Team barefoot here and proud of it too! You only get those sort of smiles and giggles from happy feet! 👣😁 *Hugs * to you all! xx

I was born and raised in Australia and our children and grandchildren are too. Although three of our grandsons were born in Germany but they’re all here now and are all often barefoot. It’s such a natural thing to do .I remember as a child when Summer holidays began you’d ooh and argh across hot or rough surfaces but by the end of the holidays we’d run across almost anything on toughened little feet. Personally I love the habit and am delighted seeing your boys growing up free to strip off their shoes and connecting with the earth it’s very good for them. Continue to do you Tara as you’ll never make everyone happy 😉🦶 we had 5 children 7 years old and under and lived in the country so they grew wild and free in the nicest possible way. They were often barefoot, swam in dams , climbed trees and enjoyed nature. They were always ( mostly) well behaved and well mannered . Today they’re all great friends and tell us they had the best childhood ( aged 42 to 35) collectively they have gifted us 13 wonderful grandchildren . Our family loved and grew on chaos it’s the only way be.

My granddaughter used to walk thru the local shopping centre barefoot when she had just started toddling. She had very white blonde hair, a naked baby doll under her arm always (named Naughtly Baby by her), several long strands of beads around her neck. Just about every person old or young would stop and say how sweet she was. We couldn't buy walker shoes small enough for her feet, hence barefoot. Didn't hurt her. She is 12 now, will be the smallest of my grandchildren. She is a mad keen netballer, playing outdoor and indoor and also umpiring. She is fierce on the court, underestimated because of her size. She, along with her mum, dad, big sister and littler brother, is heading to Fiji early next month to play competition netball there. She was picked, along with the other girls, from players Australia wide. Wow what a ramble that started about being a barefoot toddler. Loved watching Sawyer run down the path in the rain!

Amazing to see such beautiful edible mushrooms! Right in your own yard ! Are there any toxic ones in your area? Most in my area in nc are very toxic, so I always had to tell my kids never to touch them when they were young.

I love the fact that you let Crusoe and Sawyer walk around bare foot. We are a part of Nature and we need to walk bare foot and ground to Mother Earth. We have lost that connection. Thank you for taking us with you mushroom hunting. Your channel inspired me to cook more with mushrooms. We now make mushroom, guacamole and grilled cheese sandwiches. Thank you for inspiring me. Hugs!

Organic, wholesome and natural. Anyone struggling mentally try walking barefoot on grass, it grounds you and connects you to Mother Nature. The Newbys already know the magic of this and the health benefits to us all 🥰🥰

Barefoot is good, my children went barefoot in summer, only using shoes when going in the city. They are healthy grownups now. Mushroom risotto is one of our favorites. Easy! Just fry the mushrooms in butter, sauté onions add the rice, make a risotto with mushroom stock, put the mushrooms in when the risotto is almost done. Add Parmesan cheese and some extra butter. Eat with a salad . It freezes well and you can fry it in patties when it has defrosted. Yum!

When we were children in Zimbabwe, we’d go out mushroom picking after the rain and gather loads . My dad would then blanch them in a mixture of milk and butter and then freeze them . I’ll never forget that lovely fresh smell of the bush after the rain. Just thinking of it makes me so homesick 😢😢

Wow those mushrooms are amazing. I think that is a wonderful way to teach Crusoe what’s safe and not at the moment… he is just so clever that we tend to forget he is still so young.. stomping is brilliant. I love to watch the children running around, exploring and playing. You are really great parents and the children are a credit to you xx

My mother used to walk 3 miles every day to go to school in bare feet back in the early 30's in rural Germany. She told me that shoes were for 'best wear' or for winter. Coming from a hard working farming community, they couldn't afford shoes for every day wear. It must have worn off on me, because I now go barefoot when I am at home, as much as possible. It feels so good to get air to our feet and toughen up the souls of your feet. Keep doing what your are doing and the boys clearly love going bare foot.

Cooking tip from Czech Republic 👌 ... do not cut the heads of the mushrooms. Put the whole heads into bread crumbs (salt + pepper, then flour > mixed eggs > bread crumbs) and fry them in a pan with an oil.😋

The thing about shoes on the boys is, if they were in pain or just didn’t want to be barefoot then they would let you know! If kids don’t like something they won’t do it. It’s not cruel it’s natural! You and John are wonderful parents and you shouldn’t need to defend yourselves. By the way Sawyer is really coming into his own and I love watching him run away and giggle at you. It truly melts my heart how much Crusoe & Sawyer love you both. They are having a magical upbringing and they will always be grateful to you both. Happy mushroom hunting. 🍄

I am nearly sixty and have went most of my life barefoot. I have stepped on tacks, glass, stickers, and various things and still have no problems with my feet now that I am older. lol, just raise your children as you like, they are yours and they love you and I wish love is all that matters to people. I love that about you.

Your rain yesterday made me think of heading to a wedding, driving in the rain when a song came on the radio. We stopped at a local music store and bought the cassette tape (long before CDs) of the song for the young couple. The song, Barbara Streisand's "Kiss Me In The Raiin".

Whole childhood in Australia spent barefoot. Spiders, snakes, scorpions around but we all survived. Problem was more the prickles in the grass but we got adept at pulling them out and disinfecting our feet ourselves. Am grateful that I had that healthy life-style all those years ago.

No need to apologize for how you are bringing up your boys. Me and my six siblings were brought up in the country side in. Canada in the province of Saskatchewan on a acreage. We never wore shoes through all our summers, getting a new pair in September when school started. I treasure memories of those wonderfully carefree Summers. I am a Grandmother now and our girls grew up in the country as well and didn't wear shoes either. Your boys bring a smile 😊 to my face every week. You are giving them a gift they will never forget. I look forward to all your shows. They are an example of the good in the world. Keep up the good work. Thank you! ❤
