When I was a child we used to visit friends in PawPaw, Michigan. I'm sure there must be a lot of them around that area hence the name, pawpaw Lake Michigan. Thank you Cara for showing us the pawpaw trees and fruit.

I am from the UK and when i think of pawpaws i think of the jungle book. Hehe. Luckily i have seen people in NC growing these in their garden/yard. Didn't Balou also shake the paw paw and it was prickly pear or was that a different type or was he talking about passion fruit? The leaves remind me of a horse chestnut. Interesting that the skin is green when ripe. We live in Z9a. London. It gets pretty wet, warm and humid this time of year. Are they fast growing trees? Do you think they could grow here? Thanks for sharing and take care!

Those are so nasty..our property is full of them. We call them Indiana banana. They are good for deer to eat.
