If it's not handmade in the Netherlands, I don't want it.

I've had my OXO coffee maker for 8 years now. It does make great coffee, but I have several complaints: 1) SLOW. It takes 5-7 minutes before your coffee is finished brewing 2) I want hotter coffee. If you allow it to brew in the carafate without any additional steps, your coffee will be sort-of hot. After an hour, it will be luke-warm. In order to brew hot coffee you have to pre-warm the carafate with boiling water from the stove which adds an additional 5 minutes to an already longer-than-usual brew time 3) The piece that screws into the carafate which makes contact with the drip chamber is annoying. The purpose of this thing is to sense when no carafate is present and stop the cycle so all the water won't get trapped in the drip chamber, ruining your brew cycle. I have forgotten to screw the piece in the carafate before and the coffee maker did not sense it and all the water got trapped in the top anyway. It's also annoying to screw in, you have to get it lined up just right for it to screw into to place. After every cycle, you have to unscrew it, rinse it and let it dry. No matter how well I clean it there is always water that leaks out onto my dry rack leaving a brown residue on my dry rack. I could go on, but you get the picture. I don't like this piece. Overall I have enjoyed this coffee maker. And I don't know if has been updated since 2016 when I originally purchase. Maybe all of these issues have been improved.

The fact that you are using preground coffee invalidates your "expertise" and "testing" experience.
