@s-code-bАй бұрын
@@Forcebewithyou594 I have tried several free ones. They are not all at the same level, and some seem to have improved over time while others have stayed where they were. Some seem to be more proficient at some language while others in yet others. Some of them also seem to fluctuate. I have not asked them for anything big, like a scaffold worth of code; just chunks, snippets, blocks. The most I would ask of it, if at all, would be for a feature; although some of them can probably cobble together a whole functioning site. But at that scale, the code will likely have issues, which will take time/effort to investigate & will obstruct (destroy) the flow that you may have gotten onto. They seem to me more useful to those like myself who have relatively shallower depth, and useful in multiple ways. They are, for example, good at repeating to the dev patterns of clean code (without the dev specifying clean). They are good at explaining why such is such. I have had to slog through enterprise gumbo before, and what the chatbots spit out to me are a refreshing opposite of that. When the thing is written cleanly, and you ask the bot to explain it, it is a pleasant rumination instead of a dreary experience. But you are right about the 'art' of prompting 😆: it becomes apparent that at times you have to tease the answer you want/need out of the thing in front of you. Overall, I'm glad that they've come along & for their clarity & technically correct form of expression. I am not glad that very many willing devs have had to part with their cohorts, but hopefully that all leads to new adventures for them. I apologize for this screed; it is unanticipated; but the topic is current & interesting. I can picture the frustration with the prompts while you are carrying out real work. Thank you for sharing your insight.

@ericjbowman1708Ай бұрын
Journalists should also ask Google, if its new chip can do in a day what would take us 100 years with binary computing, how do they know if the results are correct? When it comes to, say, curl, these hype-meme companies aren't listening to the coders who are telling them their AI doesn't understand how to code, regardless of how effective it may or may not be at code completion. AI and quantum represent a break from the paradigm of newer generations of computers having higher precision and accuracy than the former, into the undiscovered territory of "How do we improve on a 30% error rate?" Also, until now, you ask a computer to solve a problem, it will give you the same answer every time. Right or wrong, but if it's wrong... well, hehe, *that's* a bug. AI hallucinations about non-existent problems with code, IS the bug.
