The tax cut party that can't do arithmetic created this mess. He's a fraud, as are his colleagues. Senate Republicans love debt, because investors love debt, and they do what the lobbyists' want: cut taxes and watch the debt skyrocket. You're not getting anywhere on the issue of debt until you recognize the fraudulence of Senate Republicans. They have been handed a balanced budget before, and we all know what they did with it. History (and arithmetic) are catching up to the lie on this one. The more debt, the more debtors and creditors lobby government. This one's going to boil over, and Senate Republicans aren't going to do well over it.

I can do the same thing just pick random he was wrong on taxes and how raising the tax corporation tax will not lead to more revenue. He is gaslighting you with numbers picking things to make his point. Answer me this what was Apple taxes in 2022 compared to now and just Apple you will see that they pay less. When you get to the details he is wrong
@WigglyCoop007
@WigglyCoop007 6 ай бұрын
@@mdiaz9999the federal corporate tax rate hasn’t changed since 2022. So u can’t blame the tax rate on decreasing apples taxes. Not to mention Apple has been doing worse since 2022. The stock had been growing for decades until 2021 and has been relatively flat through April of this year which is all the tax data we had until today. So u can’t be mad the taxes have gone down when the company is doing worse. But also!!! This whole talk is about how spending needs to be and barely anything about raising or lowering taxes.
@WigglyCoop007
@WigglyCoop007 6 ай бұрын
He didn’t say raising the corporate tax rate wouldn’t increase tax revenue. Only that increasing that tax revenue would also decrease gdp so tax revenue to gdp would not change.
@ywtcc
@ywtcc 6 ай бұрын
@@WigglyCoop007 If you take the existing tax budget, and take away the corporate tax, then you're left with a Federal government that is funded almost 95% with taxes on employment. Instead of arguing hypotheticals, try defending the existing tax regime to your workers. They think workers should be running the government, and all your inherited wealth, investment money, and corporate goons are freeloaders. If you want people to take your opinion on government seriously, at least pay your taxes.

David Schweikert has been 'blasting' the truth for years! God help us to listen and respond. Numbers don't lie.
@trackernivrig
@trackernivrig 5 ай бұрын
While I agree we should definitely listen and think about what is being said here, I do want to point something out about the "Numbers don't lie" comment. It is VERY easy to show correct data in a way that supports your point, even if when looking differently it may say something else. Also, the conclusions he draws from the data aren't necessarily true. I'm not saying that is definitely what the case is here. What I'm saying is that there's a possibility that he's wrong. But we will never know since as is abundantly clear, all of the other politicians have found it much easier to just ignore him rather than actually pick apart what he is saying. If you want to make a difference in government you need votes. And if you want votes, you don't have time to be making a well informed point like he is here (again just because it's well informed doesn't necessarily mean he is 100% correct on everything). It's far easier to get votes through radicalization, defamation, and relying on pathos. That is why we don't see politicians do this.
@trackernivrig
@trackernivrig 5 ай бұрын
@AboveAverageMan97 Again, I don't know if David Schweikert is actually using data to prove his point after making it fit his stance. I haven't read the actual study that he is making his conclusions from. In fact I'd say that I'd personally trust most of what he says at face value, which is the reason I haven't looked into the study itself. The thing I was taking issue with was not the fact that OP was voicing support for David Schweikert. The thing I was taking issue with was the statement, "Numbers don't lie." Numbers themselves don't lie but the way those numbers are presented absolutely can be manipulated to show things that they shouldn't. Knowing that fact is how you stop yourself from being manipulated into thinking things that aren't necessarily true. Before making any political decisions based on this video it is crucial to look into the data yourself to make sure you fully understand what is being said. Edit: It's also important to note that a study can definitely be wrong, so it's always good to consult multiple studies on the topic. Based on how David Schweikert presented his evidence it seems like the stuff he has said is based on consensus of multiple studies so there should be plenty of sources to look for on this topic.

i lost a small fortune by 2008. A senior, I now rely on Social Security. There is zero wiggle room for seniors like me. And now they reverse benefits of Medicare to take more out of SS checks, when starting this year our physicians and specialists suddenly need co-pays, and the now new cost of crucial medical tests, in many cases prevent us from getting them? In the senior housing where I live, people are down to one meal a day, and are a tad tattered for the first time in their lives. . .Thank you for speaking about seniors. @ZzXZ636The 1% pay 39% of all income taxes. The 10% pay 69%. The top 50% pay 96%. The lower half pay 4%. This does not even include the people who pay zero percent. The bottom half are a net negative as they take more in programs than they pay in. Their average tax rate is 4% while the 1% average tax rate is 27%. The top 1 percent paid a greater share of individual income taxes (39 percent) than the bottom 90 percent combined (30.5 percent). Taxpayers with incomes below $30,000 filed nearly 44% of all returns but paid just 1.4% of all federal income tax - in fact, two-thirds of the nearly 66 million returns filed by people in that lowest income tier owed no tax at all. ...so who doesn't pay their "fair" share? (Note-I need to update these numbers, but I can't imagine they're much different)

Don't blame it on the birth rate. We can't run the economy like a ponzi scheme that requires infinite growth. It's a complete joke that the US needs more workers anyways. The unemployment rate is skyrocketing and that doesn't even include people who gave up looking for work, people who are underemployed, and part-time workers (who could be working for as little as 4 hours a week). Businesses will just outsource jobs, automate jobs, or lay off workers to make sure shareholders get even richer. If the US truly needs more workers then why isn't anyone hiring???

All the smart people who held the majority of their countries wealth flee to the US, and spend it there to start a new life. That is why the US is so welcoming to them, and not the Mexican, because they come to the US poor, work there, and go back home richer. Remember, the richer one can flee the countries faster, and get more welcome from it host country compare to the poorer one, best example is poor african who is not welcome in most countries for the same reason.

There are no illegal immigrants using social security money, you need a social security just to apply if you meet the criteria. If you could secure a fake number, you could secure 1000 others and become very rich quickly, and I assure you there are no shortage of people willing to do that. Also, its been known by economist that immigration is good for corporations as long as it's illegal, because then you have a workforce without worker rights or benefits or retirement. USA the most powerful nation with the largest military can control its border just like they can in Iraq, but YOU are not let in the circle, you don't know the inside baseball. If you are interested in one of the oldest subjects in politics since the Roman Empire which is "Immigration" and you are part of a majority you will be sold that subject on the next campaign, it doesn't mean they will kill the golden goose, it only means they will sell you that point.

It feels discouraging when we as individuals are faced against monolithic institutions. But America has to learn that small steps in participating in this monolith add up.

I love you Schweikert, you are easily my favorite Representative. My own representative (Garamendi) does next to nothing that isn’t out of survival or self interest. Just so you know that I am not a bot, I read most of your reports, actually I’ve written to you before. You are one of if not the only Congressmen that I actually don’t mind not receiving a response. Because the things you say, and the bipartisan work you attempt show me that at least you personally read my correspondence, or some bot did a great job of presenting the same exact points as me. In the case that you happen to read this, what would happen if Public law 48, 48 section 112 was repealed and gold was once again enacted as the lawful legal tender of the Republic.? (Legal tender/ money according to Article. I Section. X Clause. V) I realize that it would be extremely hard, and would likely mean another bankruptcy and even another Great Depression (funny how history likes to rhyme itself until correction is made) but, and this is from a common plebeian perspective, I think the best times come from the hardest periods, that difficult times are just as important than times of ease. I believe our economy is broken and will be broken as long as it is based on debt, credit, and printing process. The Congress of 1775 learned very quickly that printing money is not having money, they learned this lesson so well that after the war was done they even tried to prevent it further with the aforementioned article clause. I’m not naive enough to believe it could be passed, at least not with the left high of fecal vapors of each other. I just know that the universe corrects and balances itself, it will likely come as the outcome of the next Jackson. (No I doubt that will be Trump, he has good policy points but he cares to much about his image to do something so drastic.) No the next Jackson will be someone who stirs the hearts and minds of the people, is uncategorically and brutally honest with themself, speaks charismatically in a way that makes even enemies consider him, is intelligent and curious while being humble enough to say he’s wrong, seeks the truth even if it means destroying his own bias, and lastly (most importantly) is not and has never been a crackhead. (Which happens to rule me out of the running sorry folks, say no to crack.)

How do you steal money from Social Security; and then blame Social Security for the budget deficit?
@trilight3597

Because they believed people would keep making babies. And most of the people are from the 50s and think people are still booming. With think tanks and other people saying we have too much people. They probably think of social security as "free" money. But in reality, it's dying if not dead already. And while they profit from their position, they rather not give up their position.

If the country gets to 40%left 40%right and 20% 3rd party both of the main sides will have to appeal to the 3rd party!! It’s not a wasted vote. That’s a lie from the 2 parties that benefit from it

@@Deerjason I’m not defending trump or Vance but the vp has no real power anyway. So even if Kamala’s does talk about the deficit it won’t matter. Not to mention there isn’t any prominent democrats who do talk about the deficit so good luck with that. Trump and Kamala is a lose lose when it goes to the debt/economy. My whole point is it doesn’t matter is RFK has a real chance to win or not! It’s that voting 3rd party is the only way to see any meaningful change
