Foreign aid is 1% of the Federal Budget. It's like saying "I have 100 USD; if only I had 101 USD, then I could live the life of my dreams". Realistically, an extra 1 USD isn't going to buy you anything. And it's not even 1 USD----50% of foreign aid is just subsidies to the US defense sector, which itself pays taxes. Not to mention that inflation rises whenever conflicts spread. Cutting foreign aid would save us ~200 USD per citizen per year, but since it would also cause everything to cost 10% more every year, those 200 USD would evaporate very quickly.

You save 200 USD per citizen (less in reality, because foreign aid is mostly a subsidy for the US defense sector, which pays taxes like everyone else) and in exchange you have to pay 10% more for everything. That's what it means to cut foreign aid. In reality, the only way to cover the deficit is to stop subsidizing the entire lives of people above 65 years of age and people with chronic medical conditions. Nothing else will cover the deficit.

Telling the truth and doing what is right in spite of adversaries..pushing forward no matter the odds or cost is what brought America to the greatness its known for..obviously there are bitter people sitting at home but the good people outnumber them..we just get drowned out because the people mad at the world scream the loudest trying to get attention on them while we are more restrained in our actions and when speaking up and it makes US seem to be a minority in America but we are not..the good outnumber those mad at the world proclaiming its everyone elses fault..and you are right Sen Schweikert..they sit and troll to make sure you know they are angry..those people at the end of the day have no idea or clue how to do what needs to be done..they just want everyone to know they are mad and its not their fault..any of it..their life is reflective of everyone else in their life mucking it up..bahahaha I think you catch my drift by now..Keep up the good fight Sen Schweikert..you have my full attention with Social Security..maybe there is a way for America to invest in their retirements beyond the norm of 401k and SS & SSDI payments..maybe Americans could invest in America like we have done in other wars..and right now I'd say we have a war we are fighting at home just to keep America relavent in the world..invest in your retirement by buying US savings bonds each pay period that mature when they mature..retirement age for most..that you could use to rescue social security for all those that have contributed already etc..and it gives those who buy them added security for retirement when the bonds mature..I think a lot of US workers would partake in something like that..Invest in America and the money gets used to fix the programs we value the most like social security...just an idea I had the other day

Why do they even touch our social security money. That is not theirs to touch. It should be kept in a trust fund and stay in the trust fund. Just like we "the people" do who won't get govt pensions

What you're saying doesn't make sense... They give money to a huge generation... The baby boomers... And others... Some of which didn't put in at all or hardly at all .. but many did put in.. they give them raises every year too to match inflation... They're getting "their" money... It's just going to be there'll be none for the younger, smaller generations that put in.. We're already expected to have shorter life expectancies... People need to be honest with themselves... The baby boomers gave us the short end of the stick... By refusing to produce as many kids as what their parents had... Their children and grandchildren will suffer.

Love listening to Schweikert and his numbers.... So simple to understand and yet our politicians are either willfully ignorant or obtuse.
