That's just the sad truth of the matter. HI in general has a higher percentage of multi-millionaires and billionaires in their tax base than any other area their size. Charity begins at home. It's not unusual for a resort area hit by natural disaster or even evil land grabber's schemes, to change drastically in the aftermath of disaster. HI is grieving, but there is no Fairy Godmother coming to take away the pain of victim's loss. I own a modest mountain cabin in N NM. If a forest fire takes it are HI taxpayers willing to pitch in to help me replace it? The answer is no. I knew this when I bought it. My homeowners insurance won't come close to making my investment whole. And I am 100% sure that after a fire with the slate wiped clean there'd be land speculators snapping up property at bargain basement prices... as well as brand new county codes and building restrictions for anyone wanting to rebuild on their lots. My lot is particularly valuable because of a large amount of river footage and a water well, but with all the surrounding mountains denuded of trees my lot will be terribly vulnerable to rock slides, so I'll be stuck with a useless empty lot for 30 yrs while soil cover is reestablished. NM is such a corrupt state depending on any gov't help with reforestation is foolish. If money is appropriated it will be stolen by corrupt state gov't and fed officials. Many times I've seen wildfires in arid parts of Texas take millions of dollars worth of cattle, barns , fence and outbuildings from ranchers who weren't making much profit. It's not uncommon for Fed Gov't to say "NO" when our governor applies for disaster assistance. The most we ever get is gov't backed low interest loans that have such a low limit that applying for them isn't really efficient use of time.

Birds "migrate" to warmer regions every winter. another example, I migrate to texas in summer to advantage of grapefruit season. Then in fall im in Washington working the apple season. Like I said, know the terms before you think you have a valid opinion.

We just need to call every representative night and day and follow up with every action taken or not taken to make sure that we get rid of the bad apples as soon as possible. It is time that the deep state has become dangerous to our very life. As a legal migrant it’s deeply insulting to me and my parents what the Biden administration has allowed. When we came to United States the conditions were: We’d have to get a job right away, pay our taxes, follow and obey every law no matter how minor, and in 5 years this probationary period ends and we could apply for citizenship, which we were honored to receive. We had to show that we would be productive members of society instead of a drain. Now looking at what’s happening is really disturbing to me. This administration opened the border to at least 8 million people that didn’t care about those migrants that chose to apply for asylum lawfully while waiting in line. If a person’s first act in this country is to break the law, what kind of society will we end up with? To add insult to injury those that break the law by entering illegally are REWARDED for doing so. In NYC they are literally handing out $10,000 debit cards to these people while NYC’s homeless Americans are kicked out of shelters to accommodate migrants. Those migrants got to stay at a 4-star Midtown Manhattan hotel for months where they trashed all the rooms and had parties. They almost rioted when they were told they would be moved to a newly built facility for them. When they weren’t inside the hotel they would aggressively ask people on the street for money. Then they started doing robberies. They started using unmarked mopeds to pull up next to people on the street and snatch phones or purses right out of their hands. Everyone has seen the videos of multiple incidents where they were assaulting NYPD officers and then getting released with no bail or not even arrested at all. They’ll take that $10,000 debit card the mayor promised will only be used for food, and exchange that card on the street for $8,000 cash. What that money will be used for will have my comment deleted by KZbin.
