🤣This wasn't an insurrection. Children in the balconies that were allowed in is not an "insurrection". They were there to protest gun violence after yet another school shooting. During a break in proceedings, 3 members of the legislature, who had been blocked from comment all morning, sided with their constituents and for around 3 minutes took up their chant. No one broke into the building, there was no violence, no one was injured, and therefore there were no arrests. That is NOT insurrection. None of them were attempting to overthrow a free and fair election because they didn't like the outcome, as happened on 1/6. There are now hundreds of thousands of Tennesseans who have been deprived of their chosen and elected Legislators because of the GPO's authoritarian actions to suppress the First Amendment Right of the citizens in attendance and the Legislators. Pretending otherwise is nothing but authoritarian propaganda.

The law and our constitution states “ A well regulated militia, being necessary for the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”. It does not say the right of the militia to keep and bear arms. It says the people. While I am not in favor of criminals having the right to bear arms. I do not mind law abiding citizens having them. But I also believe if the parents were responsible for their children’s actions a lot of guns would not be readily available. Growing up there was a gun in several corners especially by the outside door accesses. Foxes, coyotes, snakes, and wolves can kill 50 chickens in a coup easily . My grandmother used a pistol and could shoot a chicken snake under a chicken without ruffling the feathers. Wild animals can take down a cow. I was taught to never touch them. I obeyed , so did my other 3 siblings. But a good spanking when children disobeyed taught most to behave and be respectful. Some taking their favorite toy works better, some grounding them. Some need a harsh spanking. Gods word says “ some come with a gentle nudge , some with the fear of God”. A parent knows their child if they have not learn excellent manipulation. Parents want to believe their’ child does no wrong. They are the ones in the wrong and need to pay more attention to their child than worrying about if they are invited to the elite party this month. Your children should be your most precious investment. And another thing. If it weren’t guns, vehicles, knives, bats , or machetes . It would be something else. I fully agree that there are underlying issues that continue to feed gun violence in schools. However, it is interesting how we are never interested in addressing these, when they are issues that don't directly affect us. We are hell bent on punishing, even children, when heinous crimes are committed rather than asking why. Not saying I agree or disagree. Over much of the past 50-60+ years, those with severe mental illness would have been sent to a MENTAL FACILITY. But over the years many of those facilities have been CLOSED down. Now all that stands between the general public and those with mental illness are the meds they are on...IF they are on meds or even take them...and that's if they've even been diagnosed yet.

Many of those you or I might call evil and now fully exposed to the general public. Mass shootings are one example of the outcome. While I disagree with his actions, it seems that most of the people in this comment section don't realize that the provision for disruption in the Tennessee state constitution is to be censured, not expelled from the body. The expulsion was completely uncalled for and was definitely politicly motivated and also likely racially motivated, due to the fact that Gloria Johnson was kept in the body (an old white woman) while Justin Jones and Justin Pearson (two young, black men) were expelled from the body. This is not even talking about how the last two expulsions were done to people with felony convictions, namely Robert Fisher (Bribery), Katrina Robinson (Misuse of funds), and David Byrd (Sexual misconduct) This was all AFTER they were convicted

You're also way off base that this is in any way racially motivated. The two men participated in nearly identical behavior while the woman made her case that her behavior was not the same as theirs. While the two men only claimed to have walked down to the well, that truly was all the woman did. She did not yell, use a bullhorn, slam the desk, or any other egregious behavior. Those two men did. That is why they were expelled.
