The music is the raw, proof of concept (no mix down or master) intro to a song from the band I was in in the 90s. I haven't been in contact with our guitarist in a few years and he owns all of the music (and is the only one with finished, clean, mastered versions). I am free to use the raw cuts but not distribute it.

My understanding is the system is deadly. Character creation appears to take time. My players die, frequently, in OSE where character creation is maybe 10mins and that tends to sooth them a bit. If they had to spend more time it might irritate them more when characters die. How deadly if FL relative to OSE?

In my experience... I find that players not used to the teamwork required in FL die rather quickly and often. Sure, sometimes bad rolls happen, but more often than not it's poor teamwork or bad planning. When a monster rolls 14-16 dice and a character rolls 5-8 dice it looks unfair. When a monster rolls 14-16 dice and the party as a whole rolls 20+ dice (across multiple characters) it's potentially deadly, but very doable. If OSE plays like D&D, then I'd say new FL character probably die more often on average... but this will be more about the lethality of your games vice the rules. A 1 HP D&D wizard dies to a house cat, so... yeah. 🤣 Since damage directly affects the character's ability to fight in FL, there IS a death spiral. Players need to know when to run or sacrifice one to let the others escape. I was pretty thorough with that video. Other than confirming the relationships, or if the GM really scrutinizes Prides and Secrets, I can create a character in 5 minutes (spellcaster, 7 minutes), easy. A new player may want to read through the professions and talents to really understand them, but that's really the only time I've seen people take time. All of this is based on my XP, your mileage may vary, but I hope this helps.

When someone writes a technical manual, which is what a game rule book is, it is appropriate to use proper English grammar. 'They' is NOT appropriate when talking about a singular individual, and no modern professor or virtual signalling game company gets to decide that a rule of English grammar is inappropriate for the book. Here is a quote from Oxford, "[They] is now generally accepted in contexts where it follows an indefinite pronoun such as anyone, no one, someone, or a person, as in anyone can join if they are a resident and each to their own." They/their is ONLY appropriate in the context of plurality OR when number is unknown or undefined -- e.g. "When someone does this they get a bonus." "When anyone does that they fall down." Appropriate: • When a wizard casts this spell he receives a +5 bonus to strength. • When a wizard casts this spell a +5 bonus is applied to the character's strength. Nowhere in that statement does it say it is exclusive and that no other use of the word is correct. You say you will use the language appropriately, but that doesn't line up with your ability to process it. Also, let's roll out another Oxford quote, since that is your standard: "But that’s nothing new. The Oxford English Dictionary traces singular they back to 1375, where it appears in the medieval romance William and the Werewolf. Except for the old-style language of that poem, its use of singular they to refer to an unnamed person seems very modern. I'm always nervous with European developers because they can be heavily influenced by crazy British wokeness rules; however... Unlike Alien (another Fria Ligan Year Zero Engine game), which goes full they/them, I *like* the writing style used in the Forbidden Lands books. This continues through the Raven's Purge and The Bitter Reach campaigns. So far... so good! I hope this doesn't change, as I really like the game.

I honestly went in on this game just this weekend to escape the woke nonsense of d&d. I'm late to the party but it looks like a blast. I mainly play CoC (delta green an pulp variations too) but I will always have a need for fantasy rpgs.
