Poor mic setup probably. Seen a bunch of uploads like this, the whole crowd is laughing on camera but you can't hear it. Makes you feel weird for laughing alone watching it on a screen lol

The recording is from the stage mic only, and they're designed just to pick up in a fairly narrow cone. So all you're hearing is the laughter that seeps in. Or maybe a very light crowd mix. The comedian/crowd mix is still being figured out, but as far as I can tell, not a lot of very dedicated audio people get into comedy. Could do a lot with multiple mics and a stereo mix, for instance, for quite cheap.

I do remember Tim Dillon (and perhaps Yani or Soda) telling a story about how punk rock Kurt was in Canada...Where he was at a MASSIVE opportunity that comedians wait a lifetime to be invited to and Kurt had zero nerves and roasted the Canadians, staff etc like it was an open mic.😅

Wow, i have WAAAAAY better coke stories.......one of mine ends with my buddy waking up in the middle of the woods with a "Rat tail" hanging out his ass. ... did you at any point catch yourself laughing? A lot? I think it sucks for retelling short and funny lines/quips, especially if it is done in a display to bring up what's funny about Kurt as it's a "....aaa, I can't describe it right, but it/he IS funnny!", BUT at least it's what you like and a little bit extra told in a way that is so engaging and funny

A guy does coke with a canadian football player orders two hookers can't get a hard on so he gets cialis it doesn't work the hookers leave he's afraid he's gonna die the football player holds his hand, the cialus kicks in while the football player is holding his hand and he gets a hard on. And...? That's it.
