I keep my Examon count at five - a playset of the EX3 and one BT13. Having just four can get a little tricky based on my experience.

Also a note with ice wall that just screws your opponent over is if they have a digimon out and no egg hatched then they just lose out on digivolving in the back completely 😁

Examon main, some critique: Level 3: I've cut the old Dracomon down to 3 because its search is not very good for this deck with the possibility of bottom decking. With no inheritable, I find I'm only benefiting from the black box text in most cases. Instead I have my rookies at 11 with one more slot for Tamers. Level 5: 8 pieces of a level 5 is not enough for most decks, especially not a Jogress deck that needs to be seeing two parallel lines. I have added a few copies of the BT5 Cryspaledramon because, in this meta, its inheritable comes up a good deal. I tuck it under Examon when DNA digivolving. You don't want to digivolve into it, but you can if necessary. While tucking Cryspaledramon under the stack, and playing out Slayerdramon with its Digivolving ability, you have a potential of 6 security checks if your opponent doesn't answer you in their very next turn. Level 6: Max out Slayerdramon. Brakedramon can go down to two if necessary. Restanding and swinging for more checks is ultra value. Level 7: Do not bother with BT13 Examon. It was not made for us. Run EX3 at 4. Options: Giga death should be considered for removal. Yes, it is a 9 cost, but it is also a board wipe. It will save you against matchups where your opponent is trying to go wide. Sourai is an interesting flex spot against certain matchups. Edit: Other commenters have brought up Kaiser Nail/Tidal Wave type cards, those also deserve a mention. Tamers: While Dave is essential, I like to run a few copies of Sora & Joe. The memory gain combined with source stripping an opponent's troublesomely tall stack often feels good. You could remove an opponent's protections while having a second way to meet Cryspaledramon's requirements. Combo Guide: It is often not safe to build a stack in the battle area. If your opponent allows you to do that, that's great. Most of the time however, the play is to build in raising, and then push out when you're able to hard play your Level 5 and go into Examon while passing turn.

I run a copy of Avalon Gate and 2 copies of Heaven Judgment. Ive added a memory boost once but got rid of it cause even though it does help consistently ive had it bottom deck my green cards more often. Also run 1 copy of davis and ken, for extra memory as well as javing a green tamer on the field

@woolpuppy Sora and Joe aren't as reliable especially if the opponent play it safe. With Davis and Ken I will at least guarantee 1 or 2 memory

On my build I cut out the memory boost's (either green or blue), there was a LOT of times that I lose the green/blue pieces because of that, so I put 3 copies of Takumi Aiba. Draw from digivolve/DNA and force my opponent's to attack with they lv's 3 (they don't want to lose they digimon on breeding) to lose memory is priceless.

Hey power wise what would say is better this or imperial. I’m getting back into the game and I want to know if I should finish my imperial deck or try something else

At this current moment, I think Examon is slightly stronger. But I think Imperial is better in the long run since we can expect it to receive adequate support more frequently. Hope this helps with your decision!

Just getting into Digimon and dracomon is my favorite digivolution line. Do you have a suggestion on how best to pick up the pieces for this deck?

Your locals, you can find most if not all pieces there. Also ask players they can give you pieces your missing

Draconic roar booster box has most of these cards in it. The examon is the most expensive of the cards at around $20 a piece. The davis tamer is around $5 a piece. Everything else is just common and uncommon.

As an exa player, no Kaiser Nail even on tech choices hurt me on a personal level.
