I bought the G12 this year after watching your older home gym tour. Some improvements for Force USA would be to update the assembly manual (if you don't have high ceilings you have to undo it all to get the cables through the top when it is so much smarter to do that earlier in the steps), put the accessory hooks all on the left not over the exercise pictures, the handles that come with it could be better (it does NOT come with those straight bar or the grip strength that is shown in the accessory hooks and I bought the 2019 model) and they could make a small 2.5 or 5 lbs weight stack adaptor to make the jump between plates easier (and the competitors do this). Also they could make a strap between the cables to do assisted push ups like Hoist or Inspire Fitness). Overall I am happy but they could gain insights from their competitors.

Camil hi so the main competitors are inspire fitness' ft2 and hoist but since I bought it there has been an increase in brands in Australia. Some appear nearly identical, others may or may not be the same quality (? don't know without seeing). The other brands I am aware of are Renault Fitness' brute force 360PTX, revolution and Reepex off the top of my head but occasionally I come across others that look exactly the same but without the Force USA logo. So my top 3 picks to look into would be Force USA, Inspire FT2 and Renault Fitness brute force 360PTX. All 3 have pros or cons. Overall I am happy with force but feel sometimes the 1:1 ratio can be a pro or con depending on the movement. I like that Inspire Ft2 has the extra cable points in the middle part of the machine, comes with the weight adapter (for smaller increments), comes with what I believe they call an ab band that can be used for assisted pullups. But I find Force USA has more variety in the movements with the j-hooks, dip handles and landmine and I didnt like Inspire's smith machine mechanism myself. The Bruce force 360PTX is by an Australian company that has a USA supplier/delivery point to keep freight & timeframes down. What I like about that model is that it has jammer arms and everything but the ratio is nearly identical to the G12. It is a 1:2 but they seem to get around it by an optional device you can put on the weight stack to allow you to put your olympic plates on to increase the load beyond the true force of the stack. You need to keep the stack covers off for this. I probably would have gone with this option if I had been aware of it. So I am fairly happy with the G12 but I think Force USA needs to get creative with some optional upgrades like the jammer arms, weight stack adapter etc to remain competitive after it calms down from COVID19 buying sprees. Putting it together with their instructions was a pain but there are some videos now on how to if you pull the trigger.

Aaron Aaron I agree - if I had seen it before buying the G12 I would have bought it instead. I wish I'd have gone with it as it has a lot of positives but I miss the 1:2 ratio. I initially liked 1:1 like the G12 but I miss the full distance of a lower cable ratio for movements like straight arm lat pulldowns - I just can't quite get the reach for full range of motion. So yes really consider your own needs.
@sleepy11714 жыл бұрын
@@Amber86queenbee awww noo. I paid an invoice for the G12 today. Works been so hektic that I forgot I saw the 360PTX. So you reckon for things like straight arm Lat pull down the cable isn't long enough?

@LetsGoChamp I ended up getting the monster g6. I'll be honest I have some regrets with purchasing it. Some of the parts are cheap and there is quality control issues. Quite a few short cuts and compromises. I know the inspire ft2 is better quality because I messed with it a few times my friend has one. If you click on my profile I made a video about it. But I don't have much space and needed the option of a half rack which the monster g6 has (free weight barbell exercises)
@DoritosResidue4 жыл бұрын
@LetsGoChamp no prob. When I move into another place with a bigger garage I'm selling my monster g6. I'm definitely going for a ft2 and a half rack by rogue or rep. Or back to ironmaster.

@LetsGoChamp yeah I did but it was the bigger foot print I couldn't do. I have a one car garage and I still have to park a small fiat in there. So the ft2 or monster g6 work best for the limited space I have.

Stevie a potential problem with the Safety Spotter arms for all the Force USA racks is that the Arms aren’t long enough and I’ll explain: Let’s say that you want to do Squats with free weights and utilize that option on the monster series racks well when you untack the barbell and step back you are normally stepping back more than 14” more like 2 foot steps and when you squat down and if you fail you would dump the bar off your back and it should land on the Spotter Arms that are mostly 24” long but with 14” spotter arms the bar would be past the 14” spotter arms and drop to the floor and could cause damage to your area if in an apartment or maybe cause an injury. Just my thoughts on the Spotter arms being so short. You should ask Force USA about this and see if what they to say. Thanks

Thanks so much for the input. I’ll be sure to ask them about this potential issue.

Hey man! Love this review. I live in an apartment and I’m a serious gym enthusiast and looking at a proper home gym set up. Thoughts on this G12 for an apartment or is it too much?? I can’t decide between the G12 or G6 but doing cable flys crossovers on the G6 looks too restrictive and uncomfortable ? I live on the 14 floor would there be any issues with weight on the floor?
@StevieRichardsFitness4 жыл бұрын
The G6 and G12 and both great. In my opinion, it really comes down to two things: budget and if having a 1:1 ratio or a 2:1 ratio on the cable stacks matter. We moved to the ground floor in order to accommodate the weight we’d be putting on the floors, so I’m not sure how either G series trainer would work for you. Also, bringing all the pieces up 14 stories and assembly would be quite a chore. Hope this helps.

@StevieRichardsFitness2 жыл бұрын
The attachments are basic ones and the company have more commercial upgraded ones on the G20 as well as the upgrade kit for the G10/G15. The attachments that were included with my previous Force USA G3 are still holding up well and being used all the time. The color options haven’t been available for quite awhile now. My guess is supply chain issues from 2020 and that’s an extra step to manufacture as well. If you do decide to get the G12 or anything else, please use my link: www.forceusa.com/stevie

Great review Stevie thank you. How does the G12 compare with Inspire PT2? Just comparing the two before I make the purchase.
@StevieRichardsFitness3 жыл бұрын
I prefer the G12 over the PT2 for a number of reasons: The multi-grip pull-up bar is way better. The adjustment mechanism on the cable pulleys is way more sturdy from my experience. I’ve used the switch type ones like on the PT2 and they fail over time. The smith machine bar is way better on the G12 and includes a leg press attachment. Speaking of legs- you can do leg curls and extensions on the PT2, but you limited to buying their bench for that cable work and the bench looks cheap to me. Assembly is never super quick on these all in ones, but the PT2 seems to have more moving parts and steps to put it together. My friend Get Fit Over 40 here on KZbin has commented about Inspire’s customer service and how lacking it is. Force USA during these uncertain times has seemed a little overwhelmed, they have done everything to communicate with customers IMO. The decision is up to you- as long as you’re progressing in your fitness journey and being consistent- the equipment is secondary. If you do decide to purchase the G12, please use my link. It helps save you a little money if that’s the way you want to go: www.forceusa.com/stevie

It all depends on how sound the structure of your flooring is. However, it would be quite a task to transport all the pieces up 4 floors to assemble. The G12 weighs 992lbs assembled. That’s quite a lot along with any plates, bars, etc. you’d put on the 4th floor.
