It`s not a sacrifice when you earn 60 % more just by saying "yeah i can create the SSH key , change the .sh folder permissions, and the owner , give you the access you need and board whatever CID accounts you need into Cyberark" Started one year ago in his Oracle VM tutorial and never looked back. Right now i am on shift ,doing nothing, getting good money and watching anime through the terminal with ani-cli -q 360 and Git repository. In short - it`s good idea to know it ;) And this is just simple 2nd level stuff , i am too complacent now to go into docker and kubernets ..life is good man .

@fax5652 жыл бұрын
@@ramboog2654 Yeah it was a video of NetworkChucks's that got me to install Linux and give it another try it was titled "you need to learn Virtual Machines RIGHT NOW!!". You learn how to get a Linux VM up an running there and once I spun a Virtual Machine up myself I could mess around without risk of hurting other files on my pc. A big thing for me is if I look up how to do something like install a program Instead of just blindly putting the command in I want figure out what each component of the command is doing so for instance installing ffmpeg. "sudo apt install ffmpeg" sudo is elevating privilege, apt is calling the advanced package tool, install is telling apt what function to perform and ffmpeg is what program we are installing. For advanced Linux guys that is a no brainer but for me just two weeks ago I did not understand this. My biggest suggestion is to ask your self why anytime you type in the terminal ask why am I typing this and what is it doing. If you don't know what options are available for a command or application you are using I have found one of three ways generally gives you what you are looking for. A. either just type the command name with no argument ex. ffmpeg, B. ffmpeg --help, C. man ffmpeg generally one of those three will provide you with the information you are looking for about the options available for the command or application you are using. A bit long winded I wish you good luck on your journey and hopefully this helps! Edit: I should probably add that everything I have messed with has been Debian based so results may vary. Also I am probably sounding a bit fanboyish by now but Network Chuck's channel is where I have learned most of what I know I love the energy and the charisma. Following along in my own machine is what helped things make sense for me not just hearing about it not just reading about it but actually doing it.

Hey Chuck, like in all seriousness Abbeys little lesson on how to add a user was great, mostly just because it came from the perspective of someone who has NO experience with Linux. Once my wife asked what's so great about linux over Windows. First I was like, that's my chance! But where should I start... but then I told her, it runs faster than windows, even on older PC's. It's highly customizable in the way it looks and feels. And for example you can just write apt install followed by all the programs you want to use (as far as they are included in the package manager of course) and linux will install all of them without needing you to even open a browser or anything. And she was like, really? Ok, that's cool. That was a really romantic moment - at least for me. So I guess, we just need to figure out what parts of linux could add value to the way other people (e. g. our wifes) use their computer, than only talking about the parts WE like about linux.

Bravo Millie, as a total noob myself it was nice seeing someone else in a similar position trying to learn. However I do come here for the high quality content straight from the guru himself. Maybe Millie deserves her own channel as a companion channel to this one???

The call of duty hit marker and sound at the beginning made this entire video for me. LOLOL. She's such a good sport for doing this! maybe she will actually do it one day!

Omg she is absolutely adorable! We need to see more of her knocking this stuff out. Give her more than 24 hours and im sure she will nail it!

Great, fun, video LOL. Abbey, don't let that dude pressure you into doing anything else. With that said, it would be cool for you to demonstrate/teach some IT things you've learned, whatever that may be.

you should have given her a fun task to do. For example make a VPN or website or even a security camera.
