I still have my 79 F150 with the 300 six. 23 years ago I drove it 1600 miles to apply for a new job. I had all my belongings in the bed covered with a blue tarp that was screwed down to the outside of the bed with furring strips and siding screws. I pulled up to the place and parked. The owner walked out as I was getting out of my truck and looked down at my plate. He asked if I drove that thing all the way here. I said yup. He said your hired.

My dad and I own a 86 f150 with the 300 6 in it and we've owned it for ten years now and I can confirm one of the most reliable engines I've ever come across, I owned a Ford ranger with the 2.5 l for only three years and the thing gone seized up on me JUNK!!! But this f150 has been loyal for years and never ran into any problems with the engine it's self, they're just the best engine furd ever made, she's got a blown head gasket bad rear main seal, carburetor barely works but yet she still runs with out a problem other than having to put coolant in her, just a beaut❤
