My F-250 was nailed, nearly head on by a POS coming from the other direction on my way home the 27th, I am lucky to be alive and my dearest and only friend, my dog Lacy, died afterwards (while they had me in an Ambulance) in the back of a police car, all alone. I am not doing so well, I was already a disabled veteran and now it's just gotten worse. Thanks for making these videos, it helps me take my mind off things.

Peg, I am a welder at a scrap yard. I'll tell you this. This is the way I see it. It was already fucked, what are you gonna do besides waste some gas, diesel, and rods trying to fix it? Make it more fucked? To hell with the other so called experts. Just remember these 3 words. Make. It. Go. That's my philosophy.

I will say as a family of Veterans from WW2 to the present day 28th Infantry division Pennsylvania national guard we salute you and your work ethic and the way you do things are going to get better the more you fix and do as we have known that nothing is better than practice and experience doing it yourself and the neighbors/friends that you have good relationships with. Nothing else better than the tightness of good neighbors!

You did right peg with what you did regarding welding the cast axle, after each welding pass you should peen each weld by chipping it all with your chipping hammer as that's what tempers the cast weld and helps to just stop it snapping off again.top job done that most people wouldn't tackle whilst laying in the snow and ice!! Keep em coming peg ,thanks from northern England 🇬🇧 👍👍😊👌

I weld cast all the time our local weld supplier has a rod called 909 super rod pretty much what you're using we weld cracked engine blockes and all kinds of shit huge part of it is letting it cool slowly we will wrap in in rags and sand usually work pretty good but cast steel and machine cast makes a huge difference

Hey man, I’m writing this comment to just say THANK YOU for a damn solid automotive tip that saved my ass the other day. I have an old 2000 Ferd F-150 that sits most of the time. I’ve got a jacked up back so I don’t get out much anymore, especially when it’s cold as balls as it is now. Anyways my old Ferd has been having issues starting up, it WAS the battery, so I went down to sassy ass Walmart and got one of those mint batteries they sell with the awesome warranty. Problem solved, right? Wrong. My Mom goes to borrow my truck on account her KIA AWD needs 4 new tires since one of them is bald and jacked up and AWD bullshit means you gotta replace ALL four tires when one of them goes bad… 🫤 She goes to start my truck and texts me it’s not starting. I’m like WTF it’s got a new battery and she’s all listen dumbshit, it’s cranking just fine, it won’t start! So I’m like “whaaaaat?!” and I go outside and sure enough she won’t turn over. I’m thinking and I’m thinking what’s up and I thought of all the vidya’s I’ve watched from this sexy pants wearing mofo here. I tell my Mom I need “Cosby sauce”, she’s like “wtf?!” and asks what the hell is Cosby sauce, I tell her any solvent that lights on fire. She’s confused and I tell her to sit in my truck and wait. I grab off my shelf in my garage a fresh can of brake cleaner and I remove the air filter from my truck. I gave her a spray and had my Mom crank. She wants to turn over but no go, couple of more chooches and she lights up! I had my Mom circle the block a few times and come back and we turn off and on my truck a few more times. She’s working great on her own, she was just sittin’ for too long. Thank You Zip Ties! Brake cleaner works great as starter fluid! For such a versatile solvent I’m gonna keep a can in all my cars from now on. 😎

Loved your repairs peg , the whole process including reinforced strap around it , the deep v cut prior to welding gets 10 /10 AND the washer to finish it off ,, funking top work mate fair dinkum Peg, your works fine by my standards , I,m a picky prick too even at my own work , sometimes I redo stuff just cos I can't relax or stop thinking about how it could've been done better , you did it all in one go , perfectly, and yeah I'd say it's cast metal that guessing you'd call it the stub axle cos it looked like tie rod wasn't bolted to it , like chamberlain are too
