Once Ford reached the nineties, things started going wrong with the cars and vans in many ways, especially the quality, rustproofing, fit and finish. The only real shining lights of the Ford product range were the Ford Galaxy MPV, Ford Focus hatchback / saloon and estate, and Ford Ka Citycar. The rotting wings, various rustprone sections, vulnerable-to-corrosion suspension/chassis members etc on the 90's Transit / Escort / Fiesta / Sierra / Granada / Orion kept independent workshops and Ford dealer service workshops in good business for years, even after they went out of production, because the important bits holding the car together frequently failed MOT's through corrosion and rust, the engines too were also a weak point, because if you didn't maintain / service them regularly and major things went wrong, any repairs would be futile because serious mishaps caused through lazy attitudes to servicing, would effectively render the car scrap.

I never liked the Mondeo. For me Ford Sierra was the best ford car
