Definitely an F body GM, Camaro or Firebird, '75-'81. The dual exhaust tips say Firebird, either Trans Am or possibly a Formula. Edit - still has the brackets for the fender spats ahead of the rear wheels, so Trans Am fer sher.

It's a TA for sure, but if you look closely you'll notice the exhaust crossover tube appears to lead from the outlet of one manifold into the outlet of the other, which means this is a 1980 or 81 Turbo TA. Cool find!

The turbo cars had two mufflers, not the "tuck under" style muffler like that---that's more indicative of a 301 non-turbo car. Although, the exhaust could have been changed. It's also not a 1981 as they had the three-way catalyst and this is a monolith two-way catalyst which wasn't used in 1981.

I used to clean bottoms of boats in the late 90's, I was cleaning in Long Beach Harbor by 2nd. street bridge and found a right arm, from shoulder socket, elbo all the way to the wrist joint. Clean white bones and tendons still attached laying under a sailboat about 15 foot down. Called the cops freaking out. This older cop came, he got out a 5 gallon ziplock, zipped it up and said with a grin, If nobody claims it in 60 days it's yours! Took my name and number and asked what boatslip I found it under and then he was on his way. Maybe 15 min. total time with him, Cop said they get body parts monthly!

That would be awesome if Danner sponsored you. You'd be telling it like it is! Man that Bronco would've been cool rig, too bad it's destroyed. The motor looks to be a 460 V8, the biggest motor Ford offered. Judging by the sides, it's a second generation of Bronco (78-79). The first gen Bronco was 66-77 which are worth much more $$$. Maybe a first gen would be worth a thousand bucks in that same condition lol. The Ford centercap may be from a totally different Ford since those don't usually come with 4WD Fords. It's a mid 70s model!

Based on what I see, that's a 1979 or 1980 Pontiac Trans Am, likely with a Pontiac 301 V8. The Pontiac 400 and Olds 403 V8s in 1979 would have had dual mufflers, this has the "tuck under" style muffler which was typical of a 301 equipped car. 1981 cars had a different catalytic converter as they had a computerized emission control system, so that rules that out. That's also the Pontiac style fuel pump, likely a Delco #41382. No, the VIN is on the dashboard (along with some hidden VINs) and the other thing would be the trim tag, which is hard/impossible to see because it's upside down. My guess is it's a stolen vehicle and was dumped there years ago. My guess is the VIN and cowl tags are gone anyway. As others said, it has evidence of having spoilers and fender flares on it by the brackets that are still there. The Bronco is as the others said a 1978-1979. We know that because "D8T" on the tag denotes 1978 truck in Ford's part numbering/nomenclature system.

Well that Trans Am had to been down there for a LONNNNGGG time! The fact that the door strikers haven't completely broken out of the pillar and been welded and reinforced three or more times in its lifetime proves to me that this car has been down there since it was probably only 3 or 4 years old! 🤷‍♀️ By the time these cars were 5 years old, you had a block of wood under the driver-seat just to support the broken seatback......and you were having to physically lift the doors up by their handle and slam them 12 times just to *hopefully* get them latched because the hinge pins were so wore out! 😂🤣 And shit......that kind of sucks it burned up! 🤷‍♀️.....If it had a tilt steering column I really could have used it for my 78 T/A!! 😭

Thanks for commenting! I didn’t know that about the weak door strikers.
@chrissytaylor5690
@chrissytaylor5690 Жыл бұрын
@@reverserockettv007 thing is ....the strikers weren't necessarily weak per se.... What would happen if the doors were so heavy that the door hinge pins would wear out prematurely because the doors on those firebirds weighed a ton! Lol..... And the door would start sagging and you would have to lift up on the door literally and slam it shut. And over time, it would weaken the striker and sheet metal around it and it would crack and completely Break off! 🤦‍♀️ What's a real common problem with almost every single one of them! 😆

Not an Esprit and not a 1976. This is a Trans Am and a later one, 1979-1980. The '81 cars had an AIR tube to the converter which this one doesn't have. Looks like a 301 V8 based on the fuel pump.

You might want to do some research on your Danner boots. Danner originated out of Portland Oregon. I’m 75 years old and I remember when this guy made Danner boots and hiking shoes out of his garage. We used to by blemished shoes from his garage. Danner boots was bought out by Lacrosse and are now made overs sea’s. They don’t have the quality that they used to have. I used to be a hiker and bow hunter and all I would wear is Danner boots made in America. I thought it was funny you said you didn’t want to see that other car because you had to walk a mile after promoting your Danner’s. And on your yellow bronco. On time stamp # 41:48 you were looking right at the vin number. I couldn’t read it because it was in a shadow. Maybe you guys should stick to bone hunting instead of car hunting.

That's not a Chevrolet V8. They used a Delco #40987 fuel pump in most applications in those years. That's the longer "can style" Pontiac V8 fuel pump.

@@jesmahl Not correct. There was no 1979 turbo Trans Am, only 1980-1981 and it's not a turbo car because those had two mufflers. I have an '80 Turbo that was bought new by my parents. That's a 1979 or 1980 Trans Am with a 301 non turbo engine.

No such thing as a "Smokey and the Bandit" Trans Am, although the term is used often. The correct term is "Black Special Edition" Trans Am. There also was no "Bandit" Trans Am that GM offered. There was an aftermarket upfit made by Trans Am Specialties of Cherry Hill, NJ.

Definitely a GM car year could be anywhere from a 1976 to 1981 Pontiac Firebird has dual tips so could be a Formula I doubt it’s a TA definitely has a GM 10 differential, and the transmission is definitely a GM TH350. As for the engine who knows most likely a 305 cu in or maybe a 350/400? But a Ford Bronco lol most definitely not!
