Things are looking up just a little price wise, but still got work to do lol. I’m seeing the same Rams on lots near me for month on end now even at huge discounts. I think Ford’s strategy is to give the appearance of a lack of availability, therefore keeping the prices up.

Back in late August I had my local Ford dealer order me a couple of Super Dutys. They honor X-Plan pricing and anyone can qualify for X-Plan, you just have to have been a member of your particular organization for something like 90 days prior to using it. Anyone can join the Mustang Car Club of America for $50 a year. I wanted a Tremor but wasn't sure if I wanted a Lariat with the Lariat Ultimate Package, or if I wanted to spend the extra coin on a King Ranch which is what I really preferred, or even a Platinum. I decided that for the money, I wanted to go with a KR and we ordered one. In fact, we ordered both a Lariat with Ultimate package, a KR, and a Platinum Tremor with H.O 6.7. The KR came in right before Christmas and the Platinum just came in earlier this week. Unfortunately, I won't be taking delivery on any of these trucks as I subsequently bought my Ram 2500 6.7 that I got a great deal on, because in part, I wasn't sure I was even going to be able to get a KR or Platinum in the Tremor with the H.O. 6.7 in 24. And I didn't want a $100k truck with a multi-contour seat delete. Love the KR but it's silly that they don't come with the HID headlamps or LED tail lamps; have to go Platinum to get that.

The depreciation on the 2023 and the increase in price to the 2024 would represent thousands of lost dollars. You're better to take those thousands of dollars and get a masseuse to work on you a couple times a week.

I think it's market-dependent for sure. I've seen Ford trucks loaded on lots in some states, but few in others. Either way, they aren't selling at the fast clip they were in the last 12-18mths.

My biggest complaint is wanting an XL work truck (need vinyl seats) but not being able to manually or electrically adjust the driver's seat height. And why a key starter although I can live with that if the seat were adjustable.

I like my XLT. I literally don't want a moonroof, don't need my seat to vibrate (tho DO have the seat warmers). I was looking at F-350s but decided I could "get by" w/ my F-150s 13,900 lb towing capacity. If I HAD gone for the 1-ton, I STILL would have "bought more truck" (Powerstroke SD) rather than buying the more bells/whistles of a Platinum. And I also went from wanting a diesel to being worried about getting one w/ all the leftist enviro war garbage. Plus we decided to put more $ into a house rather than a huge depreciating truck + a huge depreciating 5th wheel. My truck has the FX4 + Sport + Max tow + 3.5l w/ the $900 B&O system, I got a fantastic deal vs zero deal on an SD, and I really love what Ive got. The ONLY thing i wish it had that it doesnt have is the panoramic camera. But like i said, i got a really good deal on what i got.

There is no shortage of trucks… I’m from KC and Ford has several large parking lots around the area that dealerships cherry pick trucks from…so when the salesman tells you there won’t be another blacked out diesel tremor and that someone is going to walk in tomorrow or the next day and buy it….they will pick up the phone and have another one there that day after you just paid over sticker thinking it was going to be gone..

Out of curiosity I called Larry H ford where these are and all platinums are sold except one star white one. And it’s had a lot of calls. So just because several ppl backed out of their truck order, doesn’t mean anything has systemically changed- this last truck will be gone in a day or two. Plenty of ppl out there ready to buy one.

You will be waiting a long time. I ordered an F450 King Ranch at the end of April 2022, right before the order banks closed for the 2022 model year, and just got a build date. They won't start building it until the end of March, so it will be over 2 years from initial order to delivery.

Ford is still moving plenty of trucks , prices are down a bit so only greedy dealers are getting stuck with inventory. Repair departments also have full lots of new trucks so there not getting any more reliable . Lot of Diesels on the lot though, harder to find super duty with 7.3 gas engines.

If you can afford it Best Buy is the f450 in highest trim level since 2017 I have bought 3 first was 2017 platinum f450 put 125k km on it paid 84k sold it in 2022 for 86k bought a 2022 limited for 110k sold to dealership when my 2023 came in August for 120k with 15k km on it and already have been offered 150k for my 2023 limited witch I paid 126k . Basically if your going to buy any heavy duty trucks no matter the brand stick with the high trim levels the resale market is begging for these trucks

job 1 / job 2 has nothing to do with trim levels.

I'm pretty sure it does, not because it's inherently meant to, but because Ford has just done that way for the past few years. Job 1's just happened to be almost entirely lower trims and came earlier, and Job 2's were higher and came later. They seem to have basically flipped that. Higher trims are coming first. It makes sense if their production lines were still tooled for the higher trims they were making at the end of 2023 that they just roll into high trim 2024s since almost nothing about the trucks changed.

You may think it works out that way because of coincidences, but not so. Job1/Job2 is about incorporating major changes in ANY product trim level or production facility. There is not formal effort to say that we are going to ONLY produce XLT's in job 1, then Limited in Job 2's. It very well make work out that way for instance the 2023 Superduties because of supply chain constraints that Ford will focus on one model and the timing works out that they start other trim levels on Job 2. In some model years there were MAJOR changes in the product line/ALL TRIMS that they use the Job1/JOB2 as the cutover. It MAY depending on year have to do with retooling, upgrading the plants themselves for something that stops the production line. Another example would we a situation where Job1 ford Explorers in model year 2018 didn't have apple car play, but was being incorporated in Job 2 cars within the same model year. NOt saying that happened, just an example.

@@jarrsong For the 2023 model year they specifically said that anything above Lariat was job 2. The story was that they would get all the problems worked out so that higher trim vehicles only saw issues related to the additional features in those trucks. Also, the scales and a couple of other features that are standard above Lariat were not available for Job 1. I was pretty POed about this as they had dropped the color that I ordered in the 2022 model year and then said I had to wait until spring to even have a chance to get built. Now we are in the 2024 model year and I only just got a March build date. I'll be lucky to see the truck this summer.

Why don't you mention that all Superdutys only come in 4x4. buying a 4x2 is not possible anymore. now I have to buy some shit I don't need and will never need because ford's going broke. I have never owned a 4x4 and I never will. I don't hate them, but I don't want to pay the extra $3-4k for some shit I'll never use and costs me gas mileage every time i fill up until the end of time.
