Found your site and will be sending my 2007 Lincoln Town Car Cluster in for repair (completely dead), as soon as I can get confirmation of Ford-Murcury-Lincoln instrument cluster repairs being the same to purchase on your website. How do you know if the gauge needles went back to there original spot?

you have to calibrate them back to where they should be when done

Are speedo needles needing to be clocked ?? If not how does chipset know where needle is ?

depends on the cluster but mostly you have to manually place them correctly

What are the components you replaced to the right of the odometer display? Looked to be a pair of surface mount capacitors and two other components but couldnt make those out? Are those part of the main power circuit for the board? I was able to get my odometer shining bright again resoldering the small components beneath the odometer display but still having problems with intermittent power.

The 4 smd things I replaced where schottky diodes. Not typically the cause of the power failure but I like to change them anyway.

I use a quick 861 ebay.us/cUjbBw and metcal hct-900 ebay.us/n7t5iD . Both are good but dated. Maybe better stuff on the market these days.

Im not surprised. Most places who claim they do repairs dont really know much about really diagnosing and fixing things. They think resoldering a few things is suppose to be a fix and beyond that its not-repairable.

@@ecurepair the one guy that looked at it said he resolderd everything in the board. I looked at the board and some of the solder joints look like crap. I don't know what to do. I've been driving without a dash for a month now

Every state has a Bureau of Automotive Repair I think . Call them and have them investigate.

@@maradallibya5791 Mainly the crappy Chinese capacitors and resistors that Ford used for the Clusters & replace them with the high-end Japanese version which are the best.
