I had an au2 xr8 great car..then I bought a ba2 xr8 and now an au3 xr8..all great cars but there is something special about the Tickys and the little Windsor's have that magical sound

@efxr6538 as much as loved the boss 260 it had a lot of silly niggles and crappy control blade suspension so I think the au3 Tickford is the stand out..built to last..not as fast as the Boss but the sound makes up for it...nice e series Tickford by the way ..looks super 👌 clean

Cool video man me being a panel beater spray painter mechanic by trade I love My Tickford e series one xr6 xh T5 Ute is rare like your saying so I brought another one it’s a manual as well there value is around 15 grand mines slightly modified well both are modified and yes I brought one of the last sets of xr front blinkers from aussie restorations on eBay for $460 a set my Utes when there Finished with fully detailed suspension drive, lines engine undercarriage all done in mint paint work will be worth quite a bit im also huge fan of the mighty AU intech engines and both my Utes are running those engines my navy blue Ute i blew the original Xr engine up hard core doing a burn out and I was lucky enough to find a fully rebuilt red xr tickford series one au intech and it runs that engine perfectly in my xh not a fan of the twin cam Barra as I like the sound of the mighty intech au that’s pretty much bullet proof tested and proven over and over and as far as leaf springs go when there set up right and lowered mine out handles the newer model falcons and is perfect for drifting

I had an EL GLi some years ago with a 5 speed manual. Loved that car but ended up selling it because it was always snapping clutch cables and the mechanic couldn't (or couldn't be bothered to) work out why. Traded it for an AU XR8 auto which handled way better, but was barely any quicker in a straight line and used heaps more fuel...

Wouldn't have been many GLi manuals made, was it factory manual?

@efxr6538 yeah I was on the hunt for an XR6 but ended up buying that GLi for the manual box. It was completely original and I bought it second hand from the local Ford dealer. Thinking back, it was actually a GLi "Classic" with the factory 15" alloys.

I got a black au 2 xr6 vct 182k with tickford sunroof but recently i have bought another its the xh xr6 t5 navy blue with el xr front end. I reckon i done allright.

Great video ... very informative. What happened to your electric windows that you needed to replace the motor assy? Did they stop working or just very slow to close?

Just a plastic bit that joins the cable from the electric motor to the window broke, so the window stopped going up, but could go down. Just one tiny weak point that should have been made out of metal and would have solved this issue!

Great video mate, but you did forget to mention how hard it is to find the xr bonnets in good nick. Also where did you get your floor mats haha, they look amazing i cant find any, anywhere

Yeah true, lots of parts that are only for the XR models are hard to find now! I just got my floor mats of ebay about 10 years ago, that are actually AU mats. I would love to find some original E series mats, I found one set once, but they were very worn out and like $300. I have messaged Global Trim a few times to remake some, as they remake other floor mats for older Falcons.

With the rear window tint, the demister causes the bubble.

Could be. Either way, I need to tint removed. Think I'll wait until a hot sunny day, spray the window with soapy water and then put black plastic on it to make it hot a sweaty and should soften up the adhesive. Or so I have seen on the show resto show "Wheelers Dealers".

You’re probably sick of hearing about my Utes seems there isn’t many people into them as much as I am I love em because to me they are the perfect Ute I see them as business at the front party 🎉 at back with the EF front and 80s XD rear end anyway my videos will change in a few weeks as I’ve brought my own place with a shed on a double block room to move people will see me do lots more hands on in my videos in my own shed and space not renting in the cbd I’ll be in my home town we’re I grew up in the country 😊 doing what I love

E - series is rubbish compared to the AU. It's all in the front end, the AU was revolutionary in its setup.

A popular upgrade is to put the AU lower control arms into E series, I wouldn't mind doing that sometime.

@@efxr6538 Mazda 6 series 1 (2007) had the same multi link lower as the FG Falcon. The series 2 model (2010) went back to a single wishbone setup!!! FORD OWNED 30% OF MAZDA AT THEIS TIME!!
