Take the five mins to take the wiper arms off and that plastic piece that is over the top of the air conduit off. Makes it much easier. No knuckle busting required.

Five minutes to take off, five minutes to put on, 5 to 10 more minutes to find the tools to do that. Now you’re up to 1/2 of an hour.

Never just drop a spark plug into the cylinder, that is how they get the gap thrown out of spec.

I will pay more attention to tolerances if / when I buy my next vehicle. I have a 2015 Escape & the lack of clearance makes me let the shop change the plugs.

Did you really put dielectric grease on the spark plug threads?
@Killem-Dafoe2 жыл бұрын
Yes he did 🧐
@jasonspencer97062 жыл бұрын
@@Killem-Dafoe Yeah. I can't believe he did that. Maybe nickel based anti-seize. And maybe a third as much (it only takes a tiny amount). But never dielectric on the threads! That's for the rubber boots. 🤦♂ Watch a different how-to video people!

Could you loosen the clamp on the air intake over plugs #1 and #2 and remove the air intake housing altogether instead of bending it up? Or is it too much to do easily?

I can not understand why you would not do it the proper way by taking the cowling off. It does not add that much extra time.

I test drove the new Escape Hybrid yesterday. It was SO nice. Was so much smoother and faster than my Fusion Hybrid and I absolutely loved the new digital gauges, they were so high res

Thanks for this video it helped a lot! I also removed the other two bolts that secure the intake tube it gave me a bit more wiggle room lol. Do you know if a DTC P0303 refers to the third cylinder from the left (when facing the engine) or is it in reference to another cylinder from the firing order? Thanks again👍

Usually on an inline cylinders are numbered from the pulley end to the transmission end. If the misfire is not the coil, plug, or injector there was a series of eco boost known for coolant to combustion chamber head gasket leaks…

I hate that my garbage 2020 ford escape car to turn off and on at all stoplights and stop signs and as soon i release the brake it turns back on i love my 2015 Dodge Journey that baby is way better than my ford escape
@shanec44943 жыл бұрын
That is a weird feature, everything performance wise with the escape is superior. Faster and more fuel efficient. If you spent the money on the 2.0 ecoboost anyways. I can't say on the regular non turbo engine though. I test drove a journey and didn't dig it myself, it felt a bit sluggish (storage and space was far superior in the journey though) as they say though... different strokes for different folks.
